For our first guesthouse experience, this was pretty much as expected and overall a fairly lovely experience. We were here for one quick night and breakfast, which was quiet and restful, and we weren't left wanting for anything more. Plenty of parking and privacy. Location is nice and it's conveniently only a short drive to start or end the day with several of the Golden Circle sights.
The shower was a little hard to use, because the hot water is so hot that minor adjustments take the temperature from freezing to scalding. This may be common in Iceland but my partner skipped the shower here after laughing at me jumping in and out for several minutes. The kitchen seemed like it would be tight if you were sharing it with multiple families but was enough for us to have breakfast with another family (5 people total). But these are hard things to really complain about for this type of accommodation, and were fairly small complaints that would not stop us from staying here again.

Our preference was to find a cosy, warm and quiet place in the middle of nowhere. Heidi house exceeded the expectations.
We met the owner briefly, seemed like an awesome person. The house was previously someone's home, which improves the overall experience even more. If you are looking for a nice place to see the northern lights, this might be it!

Nice setting with horses grazing behind the house and very close to main attractions on the Golden Circle
Our room on the 2nd floor was spacious but did not feel very clean. There were cobwebs on the windows and stuff people had left behind on the sill. The beds sagged, the bedlinen did not feel fresh and crisp. Everything was past its heydays. The toilet on our floor was smelly with a tiny sink. The jacuzzy tub on the porch was neglected and looked hideous. We didn't use the kitchen or the shared bathroom as a big group of people had taken up the other rooms and occupied both.
