Hotel de Werelt

I stayed at this hotel because I was attending a conference there. The hotel is located in a forest, in a very peaceful and beautiful natural setting. The location was convenient for the conference, and the surroundings were quiet and relaxing.

Unfortunately, the weather was quite hot during our stay, and there was no air conditioning in the room. We asked the reception for a fan or another cooling device, but were told that none were immediately available and that we had to wait. As a result, the room was very hot and uncomfortable for both nights.

Enjoyed breakfast. Location would be gorgeous in spring and summer. My room didn't have a working hot shower and the staff moved me promptly to one that did. Bed was very comfortable.

Very dark entrance from parking lot to entrance in winter. Wifi was not stable. Was hard to work in the evenings and on the weekend.

The location is probably the strongest point of this hotel. It is situated in a beautiful forested area, and even the road leading to the hotel passes through an impressive tree-lined route. The surroundings are peaceful, green, and genuinely relaxing. For anyone looking to disconnect from city noise, stress, and routine, the location is excellent. I found the atmosphere very calming and refreshing. A nice touch was the self-service coffee bar, where guests could enjoy unlimited tea and coffee throughout the stay. There are also outdoor tables and chairs where guests can enjoy the cool evening weather with a cup of tea or coffee.

Room Conditions Some rooms do not have air conditioning, which should be clearly stated before booking. My first room was extremely warm, and my initial request for a cooler room was refused. Only after I requested a full refund was I offered a more comfortable room. I found this disappointing and not very professional. Also, not all rooms have a refrigerator, which should be clearly mentioned in the room description! Gym The gym is very limited, with only a few machines and some dumbbells. It could definitely be better equipped. Breakfast Breakfast was acceptable but quite repetitive and limited, especially for a longer stay. More variety, including occasional higher-quality options such as smoked salmon, would improve it. Overall The forest location is excellent and very peaceful, but clearer information about room facilities, better customer service, a better-equipped gym, and more breakfast variety would significantly improve the overall experience.
