It is nestled in the woods with a view of Lake Chuzenji peeking through. Lovely outdoor onsen baths in a serene location. Free drinks at the lobby. Whole experience very relaxing.
The online check in process feels very robotic—Not that welcoming. I had asked for a vegetarian meal plan but unfortunately this was missed. It was the main reason I booked this place because it was known to cater to vegetarian. They tried hard to make up for this but am surprised that when they brought a salad, they were not able to find anything acidic for it (asked for vinegar, or a citrus fruit, etc but answer always ‘no’—surprised they don’t have any vinegar on hand). The only dressing they had on hand was not vegetarian.

The property was in a beautiful remote location in Lake Chuzenji. Quiet, peaceful and relaxing onsen. Excellent immersion in the culture of Japan.
Transportation was a bit difficult. Best to have a car.

I loved the location and scenery, but was very frustrated with the limited shuttle service, having visited without a vehicle and being subject to train schedules that the facility would not accommodate.
The bathroom smelled foul.
