Cosy and quite
Nothing. But due to the quiet and set back and quite location made for a steep walk to and from the beach/road.

Internally the property is in really good condition and looks pretty fresh throughout and had pretty much everything we needed. It was really handy having two bathrooms. We really loved Aberporth and we loved the quiet location. Despite some of the comments in reviews, we thought the walk down and back was very pleasant and only took a maximum of 15 minutes — you go through a few trees and then past a couple of small fields and then on a quiet road to the beach/town. We really enjoyed hearing the owls, sheep and cows. The kitchen has a washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as as a dishwasher. It seems to have most things for cooking, certainly we didn’t lack anything. Ewch amdani! Mae’r bwthyn yn daclus, yn dawel ac handi iawn am y traeth! Hyfryd clywed cymaint o Gymraeg yn Aberporth ac o gwmpas. 🤩🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
The lane down to the property is very very steep and narrow. I drive a Mercedes C series and both side of the car were touching the vegetation. The mattresses in the bedroom with single beds could do with being improved, they seem to me to be quite cheap and springy. There is basically no storage in that room, suggest some plastic boxes that could go under the bed or some shelves. I contacted the owner for the key access code the Weds before our arrival on the Saturday and again on the Friday, and Booking.com also tried on the Friday. I didn’t get the code until the day of our arrival. That caused a lot of stress. The Wi-Fi was a bit slow, but it did work. Be aware that there isn’t any outside space where you can enjoyably sit. There is a very neglected looking seating area with three plastic chairs, one of which is broken. Despite the description and pictures the garden is basically an overgrown mess however we did manage to pick some lovely blackberries from it so that was one good thing. One of our party suggested having some body soap in the shower would be a nice thing. For the price we paid - which is in line with other good quality cottages about £900-£1000 for the week we would have liked a pint of milk, a few Welsh cakes or something else local as some sort of welcome pack.

Location was great for the beach - a five/ten minute stroll down the hill. If you are disabled or have mobility issues, the walk to and from the beach might prove problematic as it is steep, but the car park for the beach was mere seconds by car if you needed to use it. Aberporth was a lovely little place with everything you could need. Beds were comfy. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and got back to us quickly when we asked questions. The WiFi at the cottage was great and easy to access. Loads to see and do in the area and the locals in the cafes and shops were super friendly and helpful. The property was easy enough to find and parking was great. It was a good base to explore the area from. There are lots of beautiful beaches within a short drive and we all loved seeing the dolphins swimming in the bay. It really was magical!
The bathrooms are both in need of upgrading - we couldn’t get the upstairs shower to turn on at all and the downstairs shower was quite unpredictable, changing from burning hot to freezing cold, which wasn’t great for the kids. The decor felt dated which was a shame because the cottage itself was beautiful and cosy. The garden, which looked lovely in the pictures, was very overgrown and inaccessible which was a great shame as our little boy spied the goalposts. There were only three forks and four of us staying, which wasn’t a huge issue, but a bit annoying. The oven took an hour to cook a 35 min meal. Overall, everything felt a little tired and in need of some tlc. It was inexpensive in comparison to other places we looked at locally and we still felt we got good value for money, but small changes could massively improve the overall experience at the property.
