Wow, what a exceptional place to stay! We loved the Mouse House so much. It was so cosy and peaceful. We were welcomed with prosecco, food treats and peaceful music playing. The stay was amazing and the cottage was presented to a incredibly high standard. One of the best holiday cottages we have every stayed in!

Perfect size bolthole for solo. Kitchen small but has everything to cook meals! Thank you for scissors and jar opener! Upstairs bedroom is comfy and well lit due to skylight. Nice to watch stars too. Well setup bathroom upstairs with toilet room downstairs. Elton is in the middle of the Peak District with lots to do from caverns to Manor houses to Bakewell puddings and tarts. Easy to park nearby. Very quiet with windows open all night. I even left a mouse for the next person for I think 14 total.
I thought a 350 yr old stone cottage would be dark, but the owners placed lots of lights and enhanced windows. So this wasn't a problem at all!

The property was beautiful and quirky, the little wooden mice were so sweet and we loved the fireplace.
The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was small but sweet.
There was a bottle of bubbly on arrival and enough wood and kindling to last us the 4 days we stayed.
I loved the larder, it had lots of extra plates and bowls. It also had a wine chiller and cafetiere which was handy.
Also, it was nice having a downstairs toilet as well as the one upstairs.
The garden was cute and picturesque with bees and birds.
Loved that there was a fan in the bedroom as we usually use one at home.
We would, definitely stay again.
The parking situation was difficult.
There was one "car park" that had about 8 spaces that were filled almost the whole time we stayed.
The shower in the bathroom had 3 settings. Jets, normal and monsoon, however, the jets had been disabled which was disappointing.
It also kept running hot and lukewarm which was a bit annoying.
The location was lovely but there wasn't a lot around. One local pub within walking distance and no shops without a drive. Not necessarily a negative but just be aware to grab food beforehand.
