We knew Kumba Lodge from previous visit. This lodge was our first choice at Tofo area. Lodge is perfectly located about 1,8 km from main village - so is very quiet during day and night.
Main building (restaurant + reception) is located on top of dune and offers the most beautiful views over the beach and ocean. Rooms can be chosen from garden ones to seaside ones. We stayed at garden rooms - beautiful coconut trees around... very romantic.
Lodge is accessible by regular small car, just drive carefully as the road is quite sandy and bumpy.
Lodge has restaurant with very good choice of daily meals and large variety of breakfast choices.
Staff speaks English and helps visitors with literally everything needed.
Our tip: evening beach walk from restaurant in the village is very romantic :-)
We will definitely come again!

Super nice location at the beach. Nice yoga sessions with sea view. Super friendly stuff.
The activities are heavily outrageously over priced for local standards. It is normal that activities are a bit pricier when booked at the hotel reception but prices here are more than double. Also the rooms have no airco.

The pool and beach view
The breakfast needs to be improved. Include small refrigerators , install air conditioners too

Direct access to the beach, great food
They were quite nice letting us have a late check out
Dinner often took 1.5h and after a couple of days of rain the hotel flooded and we had to access the room with beer boxes with took 10 minutes of jumping across disgusting waters. This would’ve fixed building an elevated path, because it is obvious is not the first time it happens
No aircon or heater
