I made a mistake booking a room with a shared bathroom, but it worked out well for us as we only stayed for two nights and there were only two rooms sharing it.
During our stay, we both had trouble sleeping because a bell near the hotel rang often at night, maybe every 30 minutes to 1 hour. And if we closed the windows, it was too warm. The hotel did provide a portable air conditioner, but it's very noisy when it's on. It was an acceptable room, but I would have struggled if we had stayed longer.

The location is very convenient, just a few steps from the train station. The room was tidy and clean, the bed was ok, and the bedsheets were fresh.
Overall there was more disappointment than satisfaction. The shower cabin is tiny, there was a constant burnt electrical smell in the room and bathroom all the time (not only when showering), the breakfast is really poor, you are offered rationed portions of cheese and bread, jam, honey, butter, banana, apple, coffee and juice. Fruit salad was offered only on the first day, and I stayed 4 nights. That said, considering that Wilderswil is extremely quiet and there are virtually no nearby coffee shops, the hotel’s limited breakfast does provide some energy to start the day, but don’t high your expeditions with “breakfast included”.
