Breakfast was a separate bill per day. There was very limited options for vegetarians wanting to substitute items on the menu, but still billed for a full breakfast.
The suites have a fireplace, but limited kindling was provided to light a fire twice a day. There was a gas heater in the room my first night, which made the morning easier as it's freezing. The heater was taken away that afternoon. Mornings were terribly cold thereafter as I needed to start a fire to keep warm.

The daily appearance of the endangered Cape Parrot, high up in the trees on the property! Lovely tranquil gardens and friendly locals.

Although the hotel is old and in need of a renovation the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were exceptional there was nothing that they could have done to make our stay more comforable.
Part of the hotel has been renovated they could have booked us in there. The wall sockets did not work so for coffee and hairdryer we had to use another room that is how we know that there were other newer rooms available.

Location was lovely as were the staff
Room was really tired, felt dirty. No bedside tables in the double room. Cupboard doors weren’t hanging correctly. Kitchen-fridge was very poor and door didn't close properly on it. Shower taps were broken on the one side. Lights weren’t working in kitchen and living area. Basically the whole “room” needs gutting and redoing
