Walking distance to local shops, Lahad Datu airport very close.
Clean, basic, met our needs for a short overnight stay.
Swimming pool onsite a great bonus.
Room could do with painting.

Our stay in Lahad Datu was a welcome break from the tourist train we seemed to have joined when leaving Sarawak and landing in Kota Kinabalu. Few tourists stop here. Our stay was lovely. Teo and family were excellent hosts, interesting to talk to and their home lovely to relax in. Room was comfortable. Small pool nice, and garden relaxing. We did a wonderful private boat tour of the bay and blue sink holes with Robin at Sumi Suria dive and tours, it was a highlight of our trip for sure, we were the only tour boat there. Town is a 5-10 min grab ride, a smaller version of Semporna without the tourists. We stayed 2 nights, a 3rd would have allowed us another day exploring the islands on a private boat, which I'd recommend.

The owner family is very friendly, happy to support with all kind of issues. In addition, there was an amazing breakfast served - which is just on top of all the other plus points...
