We liked everything. The setting is fabulous, the pool area magnificent. Big comfy rooms with an authentic safari feel.
The servuce and staff were probably the best we encountered in all our travels in India.
Nothing. Just one small note for travelers who have been to African game lodges. Due to the environment in India (human encroachment, lack of awareness to litter and filth...) the actual reserve and game drive offers a different experience.

Oh man what can I say- this place has major potential.
A lot of ups and downs, and I want to give a balanced review.
Let’s start with the good- It’s located in between pushkar and udaipur in an insanely beautiful jungle. The scenery was pure magic!
The property itself has charms. It’s a converted hunting lodge, with rajasthani royalty memorabilia all over and some beautiful furnishings. The exterior is incredible, and the gardens well maintained.
The staff was very sweet :) The chef made great food, the caretaker was Johnny-on-the-spot and very kind, and I loved the caretaker’s nephew Rama! He was adorable. Really nice people. We also met one of the owners and her friend, and very much enjoyed interacting with them.
There are tons of activities here- including excursions to see leopards, and a wonderful village walk (highlight of the trip was unexpectedly visiting an elementary school and hanging out for a bit with the children and super nice teachers!!).
Ok now for the downside:
The hygiene (lack of, rather). Dear lord!!!
If my mother stepped one foot in the bathroom of our room she would have passed out. Water coming from the sink smelled positively fecal and left poo air wafting around. The toilet bowl needs a brisk scrubbing 🤢. And the tub… mildew and residue everywhere. I used up almost an entire packet of disinfecting wipes and scrubbed the place down. At this point, I think the tub and toilet just need to be trashed and replaced. And a water filter needs to be fitted for the sink, to get rid of that nefarious odor.
The linens- smelly (human smell and cigarettes) with visible stains 🤢🤢 we had to get out our sleeping bag liners, which irritated me considering the price point. It’s something we normally reserve for real budget locations. And yes, we did request a change of linens but we were brought additional sheets that looked and smelled like something from a roadside trucker motel. Eek.
