What a wonderful stay! We were absolutely blown away by the warm hospitality from Odette and her team.
A special mention has to go to Nxosi, who makes the most sumptuous breakfasts, all so beautifully presented. Such care and attention goes into everything, and it really shows.
Thank you to everyone at The Lazy Shark for making us feel so welcome — the hospitality was truly exceptional and made our stay all the more memorable. We would happily return!
It would have been great if the driveway was not soo steep, I did wonder if my car would get up...lol, however, the views of the ocean were spectacular once you were at the top of the drive. We even got to see Whales and Dolphins.

It might be called Lazy Shark, but when it comes to being at the apex of local accommodation, this place is far more Killer Whale! 🐋
With rooms named Whale Shark, Great White, Tiger, Hammerhead and Raggy, the shark theme is strong — but it’s the property itself that really kills it. Location, housekeeping, friendliness, amenities… there is honestly nothing around that beats it.
The whole property is immaculately maintained, with everything you could possibly need to kick back, relax and enjoy yourself — including spectacular views across the Indian Ocean, where you can sit back and watch whales at play. 🐋🌊
The pool is ridiculously enticing, the entire house is spotlessly clean, the rooms are spacious and incredibly comfortable, and there are loads of places to entertain, enjoy the views, or simply disappear into a corner and chill.
And then there’s the Lazy Shark team — the real stars of the show. Hosts Odette (manager), Nxosi and Surprise (housekeepers) and Elliot are absolutely wonderful: friendly, attentive, incredibly helpful and clearly take great pride in making sure guests have a fantastic stay.
In fact, I loved it so much that I stayed longer.
The driveway is a little shark-toothed and requires a bit of concentration on the way up! 😄 But I actually see that as an added security feature — and believe me, the short climb is more than worth it once you arrive.
