Hôtel Maison Pavlov - Restaurant & Spa - Bordeaux Bouscat

Absolutely gorgeous hotel in a historic building, charming staff and lovely spa facilities <3 The manager who showed me to my room was delightful, telling me about the history of the place and making sure I got settled in properly My room was stunning, huge and comfortable with a beautiful private terrace and lots of thoughtful touches - homemade sweets, fancy teas and nice toiletries among them. Big soft towels and a fantastic hot shower really made my morning! The bathroom is situated in the turret which was cool, and the decor overall was very much to my taste I enjoyed the small outdoor pool but the best part was the fabulous sauna & steam which you can book to enjoy all by yourself for an hour or more.. Heaven!! Breakfast on the patio by the pool was lush (poached egg to order top marks!) and I had a very nice cocktail in the evening Other than breakfast I didn't eat there because I had plans already but the restaurant is highly rated and was very busy for dinner, the menu looked very interesting

Two tiny things - on check in I was asked to wait as the staff were busy with something and then I got a little bit forgotten about, not the end of the world but I had come from work & was desperate to get changed on a very hot day and start relaxing! Once I got their attention again though they were very apologetic and got me a lovely iced tea & looked after me very nicely ;) I had a late checkout & I don't think that was communicated to housekeeping as a cleaning lady unfortunately opened the door and walked in without checking properly first - I had just come out the shower so it could have been embarrassing were it not for the short corridor separating the main part of the room from the doorway! It's such a simple thing to make housekeeping aware of late checkouts but it often gets overlooked and it can spoil a relaxing morning a little bit sometimes

No lift

We loved our stay. The staff were amazing, polite, friendly and went above and beyond. Nothing was too much trouble.

The mosquitoes!

Nicely furnished although outdoor sunbed cushions were dirty and covered in leaves etc

The location. It is in a dormitory suburb of modern flat developments with no character or green space. Poor selection of places to walk out to. There was an event on when we were there taking out garden, restaurant and other shared facilities. No compensation was made for this which seemed unreasonable. The parking was a hassle. They have 4 spaces and as we had prebooked an EV charging space it was not available when we arrived. It was a hassle to get this sorted several hours later. The hotel itself is fine but not as good as the marketing leads you to believe. I wouldn’t recommend as the location is a bit dismal
