Mozambeat Motel

We absolutely loved our stay at Mozambeat Motel. The staff, particularly **Carlos and Nadia**, were incredibly helpful, welcoming and friendly. You also don’t need a 4x4 to access the property. It’s a wonderful tropical haven with quirky, eclectic, music-themed décor. We stayed in the **Daft Punk dormitory cabana**, which was clean and comfortable, with a great outdoor bathroom/shower and a fridge. There are no cooking facilities, but the bar/restaurant provides everything you need. Breakfast was varied, delicious and a real highlight, while dinner was adequate but a bit hit and miss. Their Pina Colada were delicious 😋🍹 Be aware that Mozambeat is normally a **party venue**, so there can be loud music into the early hours, particularly in high season. We visited in low season and only experienced music and dancing on the Friday night, which was actually great fun, with the rest of our stay being very peaceful. Earplugs are available. If you really don't want any noise, this may not be the place for you, but for us it was just right. The Daft Punk dorm is furthest from the bar, which helped. The **pool is fabulous**, complete with a pool bar and disco balls. 🍹🎶 Do check the location on a map before booking, as it isn't directly on the beach — around a **20–30 minute walk or quick drive to Tofo Beach and the shops**. Tofo nightlife is a vibe and the beach is spectacular, although expect some beach sellers and a little hassling. Just stay firm but polite. We also experienced a power outage one day which is out of their control, so it’s worth keeping battery packs charged and having mobile data available. Families can certainly stay here, although I'd recommend requesting accommodation furthest from the bar if travelling with children. **Honestly, we loved this place and would highly recommend it. Really good value for what you get. A real little gem! ❤️🌴**

The breakfast options were limited, but the food was really good. It was truly value for money and healthy as well. The staff were absolutely amazing, especially Carlos. He is truly a gem to Mozambeat. He resolved issues very quickly, especially with the WiFi and changing our rooms, which we were not particularly happy with initially. The owner was also very friendly and awesome. He really captured a vibe and ambience that made me prefer staying at the motel rather than going to the festival at the beachfront as originally intended.

The location was ok but the road was not so great. We didnt have wifi for the first day and a half in our rooms which caused a bit of distress because we needed access to contact our families. But Carlos fixed it for us very quickly.

Friendly staff, very helpful and hard working.

The owner, loud noisy parties all night, not good for kids there. No WiFi in rooms. Ventilation inside units are limited with the heat it is uncomfortable.
