Overall this place is excellent. The location is fantastic. A few steps from the fort. No more than a ten minute walk to the walls of the old city. Five minutes down the street , a shopping mall with a full food court and a real supermarket. No issues with the room. Everything you need. You don't need to pay the inflated prices to actually stay in the center of the old city when you could just stay a few minutes away. I ended up staying four nights. Two more on top of my original booking.
I don't like that some of the reviews that statef that it's a dangerous or dodgy area. Outside it looks a little rough because the street's not in perfect condition. However, I never noticed anyone roaming around at night. Never felt uncomfortable coming back at night. I just think it's exaggerated a little bit.

Basic but clean. Location okay - 15 min walk to central area but very near the Castle.
Many facilities not available eg. Restaurant only open at weekends. No local or tourist information - nearest shops, cafes etc.

Quite near to the city center, you just have to cross a bridge. You can go by foot in the day but at night it's a bit sketchy.
Breakfast is from 8am although all the tours in Cartagena starts at 8am from the port.
You can ask to have it earlier but they are not reliable. Two out of two times we asked for it the day before and they said it was doable, to discovered that the morning after nothing was ready. We had to skip breakfast, which is a shame since we paid for it.
The place is not cozy and it doesn't have hostel vibes at all.
