The house was lovely; we would give it 5 stars – it was clean, well-equipped, with amazing views.
Offer of car rental was a scam. The host misled us with quoted cost of taxi from Gavrio, and with assurance that the Range Rover seated six - IT DOES NOT. He brought it to us at the ferry filthy, with no windshield washer fluid, and the tank completely empty. Had us put in 100 euros of fuel immediately, crammed 7 people in a 5-seater, and assured us all was fine. We did not feel comfortable at all in the car (which didn’t shift well and made strange noises). We contacted the host the next morning and told him we wanted to return the vehicle because it did not fit our family of six (which included two over 80). We asked for 200 of our 250 euros back (giving up on the 100 euros of fuel we put in) which we thought was more than adequate. The host refused to give us a cent.
We could have rented two small cars from Escape in Andros for the same amount our host charged us. He never got the driver’s name, and did not have any paperwork for us to sign. IT IS A SCAM. We wish we had done more research, but we (wrongly) presumed we could trust the host who had been authorized by Booking.com. We could not.
