I was in Kyoto for work the next morning and needed a place to say. I was basically in the hotel without sightseeing. This hotel was lovely for an evening in. Washroom/bath was very clean. Complimentary coffee and tea. Steady wifi. Location and hotel was quiet.
There was an unusual smell when I got into the room, but I think that faded when I got the AC running. I had also used fragrant oils for a bath that helped mask the smell. Not sure how to describe it. The room might need airing out (if the window can be opened)

This place was good value for money. Being a little further out of the city the room was a lot larger than anywhere else we stayed in Japan.
Staff was friendly at check in but I don’t think we saw her again after that.
There was air con available in the room which was nice. Bathroom good and water pressure in the shower excellent.
Bed comfy and had a fridge.
It’s further out than expected and when you copy the address from booking.com straight into google maps it brings you to a different location from where the hotel actually is.
The blinds are not blockout blinds.

Location close to the River, the temple, the National Musuem. Small restaurants within walking distance including cafes.
Size of the room and functionality. Why put a King size bed that takes up the all the space in such a small room

Good location and close to food and a train stop. Quiet road. Room was an average Japanese size
There was a funky smell in the room and while there was clean linen and towels very little else felt clean. There was a thick layer of dust along the window sill, beside the bed and on parts of the floor. Very surprising as the hygiene levels in our 3 weeks travelling in Japan at this price range have been faultless before this
