Gute Unterkunft nah am Zentrum

Kailua-Kona ist eine schöne Stadt, einmal gegenüber über den Parkplatz gelaufen ist man direkt am Meer und mitten drin zwischen Geschäften, Restaurants und Strand. Also die Lage war gut. Es gab in dem Appartment eine Waschmaschine und Trockner. In der Küche war alles vorhanden was man braucht. Es gab Badetücher für den Strand

Das Bad und die Wanne sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Es gab leider keine Möglichkeit die gewaschene Wäsche zum trocken aufzuhängen, da mussten wir etwas erfinderisch sein.

Good place for non smokers and fit people that don't mind a longer walk to their car or waterfront

The location was difficult to find at first but it is located in an area that gives good access to the waterfront area; requires a walk or drive (which will cost to park) but close to grocery stores, coffee, restaurants, etc. The bed was comfortable (but tall so being 5'4" I had to "jump" a little to get into bed each night) not too soft or too firm. It was nice having a kitchen and saved us some money on meals but I wish there was a table or something other than the bar to eat at as it too required climbing up onto the bar stools. Airconditioning was a blessing and it was comfortable when we opted to spend an evening in.

There is a lot of road and neighbor pool noise; also quite a few cat fights and roosters heard at random times. The television is very small and didn't have access to Netflix or any other type apps, just the free watch commercial ones (and Disney as it seems someone left themselves signed in - thank you John and family!). The entire property is smoke free; we didn't see that when we booked, just that the condo itself was smoke free. We are used to having to smoke in a parking lot or designated ares but here we had to walk to the street at the front of the property to smoke which was not fun after walking all day to activities in the humidity and heat and felt odd to be just standing on a sidewalk smoking (we actually drove to a shopping center parking lot every morning and evening for our comfort). The condo itself was not easy to find when we arrived (on the opposite side of the building from our assigned parking spot and 2 sections down) and the lock was a 10 digit number so we continually had to look at the text with the code for the 1st 2 days in order to access the condo and if you hit an incorrect number you had to reset and start over (frustrating when your arms are full and you need to use the restroom). It would also be nice if the owners had a small cooler of sorts for use while staying there; would have been nice for on the beaches and travels around the island. Also, it said it had a garden view but really the garden is a few trees, the parking lot and Henry Road traffic.

Good value for money with a workable location and plenty of space.

The unit was big enough for the 3 of us to comfortable stay. A legitimate 1 bedroom with a full kitchen and plenty of space in the living room where my daughter slept on the pull out couch. It was an easy walk to downtown Kona. There was a nice pool area which we didn't use.

Next to 2 busy roads with a fair amount of traffic noise. We had to cross one road to get downtown. The building was dated.

I would stay there again in the future

Location is perfect for all the nearby stores and restaurant

Sounds silly but the AC unit leaked like a dripping faucet. Still worked though. Requested maintenance on my last day there

WORST experience/ BIGGEST SCAM via Booking.com :( in a very nice location

Location as position in Kona is truly wonderful. A few minutes away from shops, restaurants, bar, promenade. Building and pool looked great overall. Lovely and lively vegetation/garden. Large apartment, good wifi, very comfortable bed. Wonderful little balcony - garden view, covered from passers by via vegetation. Access via pin. (instructions in email pretty good just one clarification would help to avoid confusing the location with the neighbors' ) What I noticed as nice touches: plenty of towels, nice smelling toiletries, laundry pods available, ok kitchen utensils, a body board in the closet, 2-3 sand toys for kids, very good space for luggage and clothes overall, sizeable, good looking electrical appliances, parking spot reserved for me (other than towels and toiletries I used none of the above )

WORST experience/ BIGGEST SCAM experience so far on Booking.com: location added almost 300 USD cleaning fees to my booking. 2 nights stay - 300 USD? ...and in a very stealthy way. Have been trying to hear from their customer service - no reaction so far. What is "funny" they reacted to my ask to drop off bags earlier than check in time in a matter of minutes: "NO, you can not" - while I am now waiting for 3 days to hear on the unacceptable surcharges. so, bad things in order of being bad - first one is super bad, the others are pretty small matters - to be fair 1. SCAM in price - added almost 300 USD cleaning fees for a 2 nights stay and no reaction when I protested / complained / not even after I sent a reminder 2. apartment is advertised to have balcony with pool view; nope: balcony had a garden view + lots of noise from traffic; was ok-ish to sit there though, as there is lush vegetation; bedroom is on opposite side of building so traffic noise wasn't bad. 3. reaching the exact apartment was tricky - Google took me to a neighbor's courtyard; I called Customer Service - took a long time for the Customer Service person to locate my reservation - and she wasn't able to redirect me --- just to emphasize : your room number is ....... (cool, I knew that. just didn't know my building number); in the end, it was the neighbor who helped direct me 4. No hairdryer (I literally opened all drawers/ all closet doors in the apartment); I know - limited need for it normally, however, if you get back from the ocean late at night, have a shower ....you'd want your hair dry before going to bed 6. Bathroom could use new / rejuvenated tub ...no rust is better 7. Furniture is very functional, just a tad old/ frail? 8. I have no idea how to light the ceiling lamp in the bedroom --- maybe just me -> couldn't get it to work.

only plastic glasses plus two coffee cups, although we’re only two people it was annoying to have to clean our dishes every time we wanted to drink something

Great location, nice little condo for two

Great location, walking distance to all the main part of Kona town, really nice little condo for two. All the amenities - microwave, dishwasher, smart TV with netflix etc. Reserved parking spot (a necessity for central Kona), covered so the car doesn't get hot.

Two small downsides - the balcony is tiny, and while it's south-facing, it gets no sun because the roof overhangs it so far. The bed was comfortable, but the pillows weren't. There are four pillows, but all the same size, so if that pillow doesn't suit you, there are no alternatives. Some hotels/rentals provide four pillows in different thicknesses, and I wish they all would! I would rent this place again, but I'd take my own pillow.

the apartment below was renewing their apartment. it was so loud all day and night. Quite old everything. maybe the crew from the apartment below can also renew that apartment.
