Ticked the boxes I’d expect of a good hotel in its price range.

I stay in homestay around the world and have had good, bad and just ok experiences. There’s really nothing bad to say about the Kodaikanal homestay in my experience. I was checked in warmly and efficiently. Any other enquiries with reception were handled promptly and courteously. All staff I dealt with were very helpful but the gentleman who seemed to be in charge of reception was particularly helpful - thank you sir.I used the hotel’s driver service to get back to Madurai airport which was also of high quality. It ticked all the boxes I’d expect of a decent hotel in any part of the world.

Everlasting Memories

We had a reunion function with our college mates after 20 years. It was a mind blowing event with lots of fun takeaway memories. The event was neatly organised with the help of the staffs. The food was fantastic with a neat menu both veg and non veg higenically served. The ambience was very nice and peaceful. I personally really enjoyed the whole day.

Superb

The view was amazing from the room. They did arrange the camp fire, provided the speakers also, It was a very experience at Kodaikanal home stay. It was clean and hot water was available, they will also provide food if we inform before.

It's very far from the city. There is no single shop near the property, even if you want to get a packet of biscuits, we need to travel at least 20 minutes. There is only a single female caretaker who doesn't know any customer service. No security in the property. In the property description they had mentioned that there is 24x7 security but there is no security at all. The rooms were very average. In one of the bathrooms the water closet was not functioning and I complained to the caretaker but she didn't respond, then I had to contact the owner of the property via WhatsApp. The owner doesn't pick the calls he/she can be connected to via WhatsApp messages only. There was a nauseating smell from one of the bathrooms. There are no cupboards only open shelves. One of the window's glass panes was broken (please see the pic attached).

Only Location.

Accommodation was filled with house flys , no fridge, no microwave, no gas stove, no sanitizer, no hand wash, no tissues in toilet, not even a knife to peel or cut mango , no room freshner.

Nice Place, Good Location. Food was Amazing and very very Tasty. Service Staff was pleasing and kind. Cottage view was very good. Value for money. Service Hospitality was very good, extremely neat & clean cottage.

caretakers are doing a good job of maintaining the property

the building is not maintained properly , not even painted and we could see mould in all rooms and we paid an advance of 50% even though it’s marked free cancellation on booking.com . the bed spread they used was also torn . very bad experience

It was a good experience. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were very clean, and it was value for money. The location was very peaceful and beautiful.

An experience!

Awesome stay and very supportive host. It also has a place to do bonfires( extra charges apply). The views from the location are just breathtaking.

The location is quite further from the town.

Not luxury,ok to stay for tourist purpose within budget,decent place and location.

View from hotel,center place ,rooms are ok.good is good.

Towels ,wifi,fan,kettle,power backup is not there.tv was not working properly.

Neat place to stay, affordable, good privacy, nice food

I booked a 3 bedroom home for my family of 5 adults and 2 kids. Rooms are spacious with TV, hot water (with individual water heater). The biggest bedroom had a good view, second room had limited view, 3rd room has just two small windows. But this worked for us since we all had similar preferences. Caretaker was good, let us into the property without any delay, finished signup work quickly and did not bother us at all. She prepared coffee, breakfast for us on request. Cost was low and quality, taste was excellent.

Property is located little far away from all tourist places, about 15 mins drive to the lake, as long as you plan your days well and avoid having to go back to the room after ever sightseeing you wont feel any trouble.

Beautiful villa at peaceful location

It's a three bedroom hall kitchen villa and it's situated at a beautiful location. One of the room has panoramic window and it has valley view of the city. There are many beautiful villas near by where you can go for your morning walk (Trust me, you must go for a morning walk). The host was very nice and polite. You can ask the host to prepare food but inform it in advance. We ordered breakfast (Dosa, Chutney and Sambhar) and it was delicious 😋. You can park two cars infront of the villa. Property is maintained and kept clean, good for a family vacation.

The bed in one of the room was very hard.
