If you want to stay with the most lovely family and have a proper Colombian local experience, then this is the place to go. We stayed at Casa Familiar Fela because we wanted to be close to the volcano (which unfortunately was shut during our time). However, staying with this beautiful family made up the volcano being shut. Fela, the owner, was great and gave us coffee and a nice breakfast, her grandchildren entertained us at night with their dancing and smiles. The rest of her family helped us with tips and took us to the beach. Overall, it was a great experience. Note:you are coming here for a truly local Colombian experience, if you are looking for a 5 star room, air con etc then this town is not for you.

Loma de Arena is a stop you should not miss while travelling on the coast. The village is curious and safe, the beach is very beautiful, sunset is amazing. Nearby there is also a volcano where you can bath in the mud. Fela is a nice and strong woman that will welcome you in her supernice house where she lives with her family. Highly recommended
