Once we made the climb, we were rewarded with a beautifully tiled apartment with a terrace and magnificent view. Close to a fruit stand and market so we can cook our own breakfasts.
The communication from the host company was great during the planning stage after we booked our stay, but the day of check in things fell to pieces. Not sure if it’s the host’s or booking.com’s fault, but we never received the email with the check in instructions that gave us the code to get our key. I alerted the host that we never received the email for checkin and she was unresponsive as we were leaving Capri, when we arrived in Positano, when I said we were walking up and when we were at the gate to the property on a very hot day and walking straight up from the port.. about a half hour up many stairs and we were hot and tired. We finally got our instructions after waiting a half hour at the gate, soaked in sweat when someone else from the team finally answered us and gave us the code to access the property and the keys to our room. The checkout time was early.. 10am.. usually 11am is standard. We asked for a later checkout and we were granted a half hour, but the cleaning lady wasn’t told and showed up at 10 anyways

I loved the views from the balcony - absolutely breathtaking
The room itself is much darker than the photos show. You do have a balcony but it’s not private in any way and you will get to know your neighbors (not always a bad thing). The room is muggy and does not have good air circulation so that was definitely a downside. I had to leave my bath towel (two full size towels are given to you) on the balcony to dry since it wouldn’t dry in the room. One other downside - there does not seem to be very much privacy at all - you can hear your neighbors very well. The city tax situation - the owner (or someone I think is the owner) came almost through our door when I was not decent. She would have come all the way in without knocking or anything if my husband hadn’t stopped her. After much time trying to understand her, we finally realized she was trying to collect the city tax. There was no information or warning over text that she was on her way to collect the city tax. She was very nice but at many times we saw her peeking in through the shutters throughout our stay.
