Overall, it's a nice unit with a good location and terrible management/cleaning crew.
-The space is cozy with lots of natural light and a charming log-cabin appearance. You'll wake up to birds chirping, and despite being very close to the road, there is limited residential traffic meaning low road noise. You're a short walk down the lake and adjacent facilities.
-The parking is lit and the back entry is lit, but the side path has no lights... And there's no sidewalk or pavers, so watch out for the mud, rocks, and the pile of plant debris as you walk to the back entrance in complete darkness.
-When we arrived, the toilet was full of... something. It looked like vomit and smelled like sulfur. Even after repeatedly flushing the toilet and opening windows, the home still smelled terrible for hours.
-The hair dryer didn't work, and a replacement was never offered
-The bed has a plastic mattress cover, a mattress pad, and...a comforter with a stain on it. No sheets! We contacted support and they were sympathetic, but you're talking to a distant call center with no information on who will be able to actually offer tangible help, or when it might be provided. The "local team" finally brought us sheets the next day (without calling first as we were told they would), but the first night, we used extra bath towels as sheets 🤦♂️ No replacement comforter was offered.
-The lock passcode to get in the home is 10 digits long, too much to remember, so you have to pull your notes out each time you enter and carefully type it in.
-There were texts and emails with some guest information, along with an online portal from Vacasa, plus a printed book on the table in the unit. Information in all these resources was occasionally contradictory or incorrect. For instance, the book talked about the dishwasher (there isn't one) and references throwing the trash in a trashcan in the garage by using garage keys on the tv shelf (no keys are there). The hosts need to consolidate relevant check-in information into one email, and all check-out information into the printed book or an email.
-I left a similar review on Vacasa's website about 24 hours ago. I don't see it posted (assuming they deleted it), and no one from the company has reached out, so posting it here as I booked via Booking.com
