Tanya was amazing. Having spent the week before at center parcs with our son and disabled daughter, she very kindly did some clothes washing for us. Helped us make some extra room to navigate our daughters wheelchair through to the bedrooms, and was always available to help in any way she could. The experience was a fantastic one, but without Tanya's flexibility and calming approachable personality, it could have been very different. Cannot sing your praises highly enough.
We will definitely be coming back again.

Excellent value for money in Cockermouth. Conveniently located to explore the town and the broader Lake District National Park. Clean with large bedrooms. Good shower. Well-equipped kitchen. Nice patio area. Friendly, helpful host with good directions and easy check in. We recommend the Pencil Museum in Keswick (seriously, you'll love it) and the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railroad (narrow gauge) but it is also an easy drive down to places like Bowness-on-Windemere where it would be much more expensive to stay.
No washing machine but we knew that when we booked (and the price reflects that). Just plan ahead and you'll be fine.

The cottage has a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a lovely deep bath (ideal after hiking). We have stayed here 3 or 4 times because it is handy for Wainwrights. The swing is nice to sit on.
