You will love this beautifully decorated cottage that has been renovated to maintain some of its original character and has all the modern conveniences you need! If you are looking for a rental home that is full of character, charm, and comfort, you will adore The View Cottage. Main level includes living room, dining area and well equipped kitchen with geo-glass countertops, bar sink, and wine refrigerator. First floor Master bedroom (queen bed) with wall mounted TV, two full bathrooms, and a Bunk Room that sleeps 4 with Smart TV. Relax on the first floor new large deck with new hot tub where you will experience beautiful ocean views, sunrises, and gorgeous, moon lit nights over the ocean. You will be so close to the ocean that you may see beautiful dolphin frolicking on any given day! Upstairs has 1 bedroom with queen bed and 1 bedroom with full bed and also a half bath. Great beach location with fabulous deck to hang out on and see the ocean. We reached out to the host with just a couple questions and they were always very quick to respond and very nice. House was stocked as described, the beach was a short 2 min walk away, we had just about everything you could need in the kitchen. We all had a great time. Couldn’t really ask for more! Appreciate a great place to stay at a beautiful beach! Thank you!!

This house was the perfect place for our family vacation! The outdoor sand kitchen was adorable and my kids loved it. The beach access was super close. And we were close to shopping and restaurants. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice trip to the beach.

We had an absolutely fantastic week and made so many memories at the View Cottage . The lovely and very clean home is located steps from the beach , incredible views, nice new hot tub, and a great deck with plenty of seating to enjoy the view. The home is stocked with everything you need including kitchen utensils , games , beach chairs & boogie boards for the family!
The location is also ideal. Plenty of activities north and south. Some things we did - boys went on an awesome fishing trip and we ate delicious fresh fish all week , we all enjoyed an incredible sunset at Jockeys Ridge, shopped in Duck, went go karting , and enjoyed the views as we ate at Fish Heads.
Can’t say enough about Therese and Herb. They are amazing hosts. Therese provided so much info about what to do and where to eat. As soon as Herb found out about our fishing trip, he called to share tips and their family experiences . Both were so easy to reach and answered every question we had .
The View Cottage is all around a great place and we definitely recommend staying if you plan to visit OBX!!!

Best property we’ve stayed in after 20 years of coming to the outer banks. The view is gorgeous, the deck is an amazing place to entertain and relax, especially the high quality hot tub. Access to the beach is very easy to come and go throughout the day. Perfect outdoor shower under the house. The few times it rained we could enjoy the sitting area under the house too - super cute! The home checks all of the table stakes boxes for me - comfortable beds, good climate control, plentiful hot water with good water pressure, no street noise. We’ve never slept so well in OBX! Kitchen was well equipped. The layout worked well for our group - parents in the first floor queen, our 13 yr old son in the adjoining room which would have accommodate a few more guests. Our 18 yr old daughter and her friend had their own area upstairs, so they were undisturbed by our earlier morning starts. We had other family staying a mile away and they were jealous of our place. Herb and Therese are great! We’re thankful they’ve established this new go-to place for us.

We really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the communication with the owners. The owners made it easy by providing linens, which was a huge plus when arriving late at night. There were so many beach supplies as well as badminton, bubbles, and other kid activities. You could tell the owners put a lot of thought into guest enjoyment- there were lots of books and kids activities throughout the house. My kids really enjoyed the outdoor sand kitchen.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from the ease of booking to checking in to communication. The cottage was just as pictured and was in a perfect location. It definitely felt like we had our own private beach as well as beautiful views and a relaxing environment. We were beyond pleased!

We stayed three nights at The View Cottage at the end of May - four adults and four children. The place was perfect for us. Great location, a very quick walk to the beach. The house itself was fantastic - clean, comfortable, with a great beach decor. It was clear that Herb and Therese put a lot of thought into details of the interior design and the traveler experience. The board game cabinet was a hit with the older kids and the high chair they provided was really helpful for our one-year-old.
Logistics were very easy - Herb and Therese responded to messages within a few minutes every time, and check-in and check-out were simple.
Only downside was a lack of sunshine during our stay, but the hot tub on the deck ended up being perfect for the cool evenings. Would definitely recommend this place!

Our family stayed here with 8 people ranging in ages from 6 months to 82 years young!! In spite of the rainy, cool weather, we enjoyed this charming beach cottage so much! The location is perfect, and it’s truly an easy (1minute) walk to the beach! We were able to comfortably park 5 cars, and we had plenty of room inside the house. The hot tub was easy to use, and especially enjoyable since the weather was cool while we were there. The deck area was spacious, The beds were comfortable, the showers had great water pressure, and the home is beautifully decorated! The extra beverage refrigerator was a nice perk too!
I do feel it’s worth noting that the room
With the bunk beds adjoins the mater bedroom with sliding pocket doors that don’t lock; and the main entrance to the master bedroom has a door on it with slats in it that you can actually somewhat see through, and you definitely can hear everything going on in the adjacent living area! If your traveling with family/kids, it’s probably a non-issue. It was fine for us.
I would not hesitate to stay here again! This place is exactly what a beach cottage should be!!

After a hectic Spring, my spouse and I were looking for a bit of R&R. Having never been to the Outer Banks, we found the View Cottage on VRBO. I must say, I was a bit hesitant at first, given that this condo is "Semi-Oceanfront", but I booked anyway and I am very thankful that I did! Although this home is across the street from the Atlantic Ocean, as you can see from photos, there are no gigantic homes to block its view. Literally, in 1 minute's time, your feet are in the sand...your beach chair within 3 minutes tops! The cleanliness of the cottage was exceptionally spotless. There were plenty of beach toys/chairs, cornhole games, etc for families to enjoy, courtesy of the Cottage. And, I would be remiss if I didn't mention how accommodating Therese and Herb were to my requests. Communication was quick, efficient, beneficial. I had a fantastic stay and hope to become regulars at the View Cottage!

Eight of us came for OBX Rally. We were all very pleased with the home. Everything we needed was there. We enjoyed the large living area and kitchen as we were stuck in the house for a lot of the time due to weather. The view was amazing and the hot tub topped off our trip! Will definitely visit again and stay at "The View" I would like to add that the host/owners were fabulous. We were informed of everything we could possibly need before and during our stay.

The cottage was perfect for our family getaway. It was decorated beachy and comfortable, clean, and had all the essentials. The property owner was very responsive and attentive during our stay. We loved the hot tub every night and the quick walk to what felt like our own private beach! We can’t wait to come back and visit again!

Every corner in the View cottage was a great use of space. From the reading nook by the window to the newly built deck out front. There’s a lot of seating options inside and outside of the cottage as well. The hot tub was also a bonus in the cool afternoons & evenings.
Our family of five had ample space to spread out & I loved to watch the sunrise from the deck. The beach is a short walk and lots of food options nearby. Therese was very responsive. The view cottage is definitely one of the most comfy beach properties we have stayed to date. Hope to visit again soon.

The View Cottage is a fabulous home with beautiful views. The location is central to everything. Upon our arrival, the home was absolutely spotless. In addition to being so clean and well maintained, it had everything we needed to be comfortable for the entire week. The beds are comfy and the bathrooms and showers are very nice. Having a washer and dryer was great too. The deck is brand new with plenty of seating to enjoy the ocean views and has an awesome hot tub. It is a 1 minute walk across the street to be sitting on the beautiful sandy beach. The owners have a shed with beach toys, chairs, and umbrellas available as well. Instructions for check in and check out are clear and easy and the owners are so nice and welcoming. They provided great ideas for activities and places to eat in the area. The whole experience was top notch!

Our vacation was all we hoped it would be and more!
The hosts were very informative not only regarding the property details but provided excellent information of nearby places to visit and eat. It was so nice as adults for each of us to have our own room yet we also plan to book down the road with grandchildren in tow as the property provides for larger groups as well. The cleanliness of the property was a big plus factor in enjoying our stay. The location was excellent on all counts with a view and easy access to the beach and centrally located for the many adventures we planned.

We were two families (4 adults and 5 kids) spending our 15th NYE in OBX. The location cannot be beat! We really enjoyed the hot tub with views of the ocean. The access to the beach was excellent. The only downside is that there is not a full bathroom on the 2nd floor.

The house was great. Was very clean and loved the well equipped kitchen. We had some rain but it was great having a short walk to an empty beach. Will definitely look to stay here again. Foosball and a separate room with tv for the kids... perfect! 2 and 4 year old loved the outdoor kitchen.

First of all the Hosts are fantastic and great communicators.
The Cottage is very tastefully decorated and has all the amenities of home. Terrific view and walking distance to the beach. All of the things they list in description are there and make for an enjoyable stay. It’s nice when you just have too show up with clothes feel like you are at home on the beach. There are some our all time favorite places to eat close by. Hope to come back again.

My family and I loved staying at The View Cottage, it was our second year at this home and just as great as we remembered. The house is decorated beautifully, the location can't be beat, beautiful ocean views, short path to the water, and close enough to shopping and attractions in the area. The house was well equipped, we especially loved the kids room stocked with games and the nets downstrairs to use ghost crabbing. Definitely recommend this place- Herb and Therese have a wonderful place and they made the booking to checkout process easy as can be.

This quaint home is awesome. We were 6 adults and didn't miss a Sunrise on that deck!! We had plenty of room to spread out to eat , read, watch TV, and enjoy a cocktail below the deck . The beach access is close for those beach days!! Would stay here again without a doubt!! Therese was very responsive and so very helpful!

I've stayed in over a dozen VRBO properties over the last 8 years, and this experience was among the top. From Day 1, Therese was attentive to all our questions.
Our group of 4 couples were going to attend a destination wedding, so there were a few criteria to determine where to stay: we needed a partial week rental, proximity to the wedding, bathrooms/4 bedrooms, ocean view, and a reasonable cancellation policy - all while affordable.
The View Cottage checked all the boxes! We were delighted the description was accurate. Bonus were the super comfortable beds, great insulation throughout the house making it very quiet between rooms, plethora of beach accessories, and proximity to restaurants.
Noteworthy tips:
* the carport seating area is perfectly shaded and breezy for morning coffee
* the kitchen tools and serving ware are ample
* outdoor shower was used regularly
* several local recommended restaurants are a must
* views from the living room are incredible

Our family had a wonderful experience at the View Cottage! The house was spotless upon arrival, every room was cleaned thoroughly. The house is decorated beautifully! Every room was cozy and gave you the beachy vibes you expect to find at a beach house. The home was fully stocked with everything a family could possibly need. We loved that the kids room was attached the master room (separated by pocket doors) and was filled with board games and had an adorable little reading nook that my kids enjoyed! The walk to the beach was a little bit tricky for young kids, it's not far at all but you have to cross a road that gets busy. The outdoor shower was great to wash off the beach sand. The outdoor space under the house was a great place to hang out, they even have a cute kids' kitchen that will entertain the youngest guests and keep them cool in the shade. The home owners are fantastic! Prior to our arrival, they kept us updated on the sand dune restoration efforts. During our vacation, they warnws us know about the increased number of jelly fish in the area. They responded to all inquiries within minutes! By far, the best rental experience we have ever had! Would definitely recommend booking this beautiful home to all families!

This is our favorite place to stay in the OBX and the owners are wonderful to work with. Excellent location, so close to the beach. Lovely view from the house and deck. AC kept the place nice and cool even with the scorching temperatures in Kitty Hawk! House is well laid out for our group of 7. Plenty of space for everyone.
Location is convenient to the beach and grocery store. Also made a couple triple to Duck Donuts and Crumbl Cookies which are both close by. Easy drive north if you want to visit Duck or Corolla. We did a wild horse tour this year that was fun. Also, an easy drive south if you want to do a dolphin tour in Manteo or visit the botanical garden or aquarium in Roanoke.
There is so much to do in the area and this house was a perfect home base! Wouldn’t stay anywhere else! Thank you for a wonderful week!

Beautiful sunsets and a fresh awakening
We had a wonderful time at OBX.
The property owners were lovely, responsive and communicates.
The property was located 1 minute from the beach with a near by crosswalk.
Boogie boards, chairs, umbrellas and sand toys were all available.
The area under the deck provides a great place to grill, chat and play games.
The kitchen was well equipped.
There are some spices.
Lovely wine fridge etc.
There is a coffee maker and Keurig (bring your grounds and capsules).
The owners thought of most gadgets.
The bathrooms were clean. We had a issue with a shower curtain which was resolved very very quickly.
The beds are super soft. (We actually had to take off the mattress pad).
There is no upstairs shower instead a 1/2 bath.
2 showers on the main level and 1 outside.
The hot tub was great.
Lots of chairs outside to see the sunsets.
The area was lovely, safe and there was plenty of good food nearby. We likes Arts!
We will definitely return and have already referred a friend.
