About this house rental
Situated in La Marque, this lovely house for $218 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Cozy 3 bedroom, 2 bath home, is newly remodeled and has everything you need for the perfect family vacation! Spend the day exploring near by attractions, fishing from the backyard, or simply enjoying the beautiful views from your private upstairs deck The house is nestled in a great little fishing community, nothing fancy, you'll see some RVs and trailers. However, the location is great because it is 15 minutes away from Galveston Beaches, 24 minutes away from the Texas City Dike, 30 minutes from Kemah Boardwalk, and 10 minutes away from the Fairgrounds giving lots of room for fun things to do with very little drive time and an added bonus of breath taking nature views! If you are wanting to fish you'll need to bring your own equipment, the house does not include watercraft or fishing supplies, but does have two crab traps tied to the bulkhead. There's also a private launch for kayaks (not included with rental). Hopefully you're booking to relax and unwind but if work is a must we’ve included an office work space in the guest bedroom that includes a desk, chair, and computer monitor. The house sleeps 7 people max, including adults and children. Two bedrooms have queen beds and the third bedroom has a bunk bed, with a full bed on the bottom and twin on the top. The kitchen is very nicely stocked with pots, pans, baking sheets, and some handy spices. There is also a charcoal grill on site but you must clean it if you use it. Coffee maker is a Keurig (k-cups are supplied). TVs in all the bedrooms and the living room with access to Netflix, Hulu, and Prime. Host supplies starter toilet paper (4 rolls) and 2 rolls of paper towels. Shampoo, body wash and conditioner provided. Both bathrooms have a blow dryer. Home is only accessible by climbing a flight of stairs. The garage area is not available for guest access, and there is access to one closet, hangers provided. The property has 5 active exterior camera/audio recording devices running 24/7 for the security of guests and the home. Any attempt to turn off, damage, disrupt or remove these devices will lead to an immediate removal from the property without a refund. If at anytime the max occupancy limits are exceeded you will be asked to vacate immediately with out refund.

This property was so nice! It was wonderful to hang out by the water and fish and catch crabs. We definitely threw back what we caught but there was a large variety considering how hot it was outside. The inside of the property was clean and well kept. We were definitely loved our stay and can't wait to come back.

Melanie was an awesome and very understanding in our needs. This is perfect place to stay with access to the back channel for fishing and crabbing. The patio was wonderful for the family to gather and enjoy the breeze. Can't ask for anything more.

Host Melanie was the best; responsive, proactive, and very nice. We scheduled this trip to the area to break in our new boat and get some fishing in. We have stayed at a couple other places in the neighborhood in the past and initially picked this place because of the prime parking for the boat. After staying there, this place is everything you would want at your home away from home; it’s very clean, organized, fresh, roomy and comfy. We enjoyed coming back to the place after a day on the water. We caught some red and black drums down south in the ICW and almost a dozen crabs out in the back of the place; the crab nets were already there, we just added the chicken.
The fish cleaning station in the backyard was very convenient; very easy to clean the fish quickly without having to carry them upstairs to the house. Great experience, we will definitely be back. Thanks!

The house was very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed and the decor is fabulous. The yard and spacious porch downstairs kept the teenagers occupied while I cooked and got ready for activities. They fished, used the crab traps and played football. Short drive to Galveston and surrounded by great little restaurants. The neighbors are quiet and friendly, especially the Lab that lives down the street. I really liked the communication about the property. The reaponses were quick and always friendly. We all had a fantastic time and will definitely be back! Hitchcock Bayou was a blast!

It was very nice and we really enjoyed our stay. It was very comfortable. The only thing that it was a bit of a downside was check in time. It was too late. It would be nice if it was earlier. But like I said it was a very cute home and it was very clean and nice. Thank you for being a great host. Thank you ☺️

Perfect privacy close to attractions.
This was the perfect home away from home. My guys enjoyed trapping and fishing in the canal. It was quiet and peaceful, but close enough to the beaches and attractions without all the noise. Loved it.

Really Nice House on the Canal
We rented the house because we were going to the crawfish festival nearby. Decided we liked the peace and quiet better and stayed at the house the whole weekend. Wonderful outdoor space, we were barely inside. The covered deck was great to get out of the sun when we needed to.

Comfortably sleeps 7
The online description says comfortably sleeps 7 and not max occupancy of 7 including kids under 5. We had to pay extra because we had more than 7. We drove 8 hours to get to his house so it was not an option to leave without paying the penalty of having more than 7 total.
The house itself was very clean and nicely furnished with everything you need. The neighborhood is a little run down.
We didn't have any luck catching any fish or crabbing.

The check in time was great, other than that it was horrible. No privacy. They had a neighbor keeping an eye on us. We were kicked out because I decided to let 1 family stay the night. . The reason for that was because of safety. I did not want them to drink and drive. They wanted to charge each person $100. The host was hostile and horrible, threaten with trespassing. Was not accommodating and did not want to work things out. I would not recommend renting this place to anyone

The tv has every app you could want plus cable and the house stays nice and cold if you need a low temp for sleeping.
This is a great place to go launch a kayak or small boat, you can't get under the railroad bridge on high tide bit there's still plenty of good marsh to fish.
I caught some reds and a keeper flounder plus some small specks drifting in the main "lake" marsh area to the left of the bridge.
If you set up some construction lights in the canal it brings lots of fish in but all smaller this trip, with fall coming that will change though!
The grill is great as well plus if you keep the crab traps stuffed full of fish you'll catch a good amount of blue crabs.
There is another boat launch at Louis around the corner and good convenient stores plus some good restaurants (also Louis grill and bait camp)
All in this is just a great place to hang out and get away!

We had a wonderful time and loved the house! It was comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We were all very comfortable inside, and outside also! The kids were able to fish from the yard and we enjoyed watching from the deck. Can’t wait to come back again!

Beach hideaway
We could not have been more pleased! With two week notice they were more than accommodating. A private suite for us, a lovely queen room for my mother in law and a bunk bed for my three boys. There was fishing and crab trapping in the backyard and just miles from the best beaches. We will stay here again!

We had a wonderful time and loved the house! It was comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We were all very comfortable inside, and outside also! The kids were able to fish from the yard and we enjoyed watching from the deck. Can’t wait to come back again!

Beautiful and relaxing home
Our family visited this property with our teenage kids. We loved the house and the location. It is right on the water and the kids loved trying to trap crabs and catch fish. It is a beautiful relaxing spot close to activities and the beach. The house is beautifully decorated and updated and you have all of the necessities needed. We appreciated the beach towels and laundry machines. I would highly recommend this property.
