About this villa rental

Situated in Antigua and Barbuda, this lovely villa for $1,220 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Bluff House sits in peaceful and private 2 acre gardens in the heart of English Harbour, with unrivalled 270 degree views from the wrap-around terrace and directly above Falmouth Marina, home to international superyachts (great for boat-watching!). It’s a short walk to Pigeon Beach, the restaurants and bars in English and Falmouth Harbours and UNESCO World Heritage Site, historical Nelson’s Dockyard. Bluff House is very much a family home - it's relaxed and inviting with plenty of space for everyone - even with 12 guests there are plenty of "quiet" spots in which to sit and read or just admire the amazing views. There are four double bedrooms on the ground floor and two further bedrooms downstairs. All bedrooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, white cotton bedlinen, hairdryers and bath gel, shampoo and conditioner in all bathrooms. The Master Bedroom (sleeps 2), Harbour View Bedroom (2) and Pool View Bedroom (3) all have ensuite bathrooms and direct access onto the wrap-around balcony with their own private seating areas, perfect for early morning coffee or peaceful afternoon reading. The second bedroom in the Master Suite (2) has its' own bathroom, just across the corridor within the Master Suite. The Studio Apartment (2 + sofa bed 2) downstairs is self-contained, with its own bathroom, kitchen and patio area. The Lower Bedroom (2) downstairs has twin beds, an en-suite bathroom and is ideal for teenagers or crew. With cooling trade winds and spectacular views you will love the feeling of space at Bluff House. On the covered veranda outside there's a large dining table, comfortable seating area for early evening drinks or morning coffee and eight comfortable sofas in all. The very well equipped kitchen has two dishwashers and two large fridge/freezers plus a separate pantry and plenty of crockery, cutlery, serve ware and glassware. You will also find a large gas barbeque outside on the veranda, overlooking the covered bar area which also has a dining table and is the perfect spot for sipping sundowners and admiring the sunset over Montserrat beyond. Around the pool there are plenty of sun loungers and a large umbrella. All towels, including beach and pool towels are included. Inside, the sitting room has a tv, two large comfortable sofas and plenty of books and games. There is also an indoor dining table. Should you need to work whilst there you will find a large antique desk in the hall along with fibre optic broadband. There are plenty of excellent food and wine shops locally. We can also put you in touch with some great chefs and cooks. There are some fabulous, first-class restaurants, all within walking distance - some of which may need pre-booking - do please ask for advice. Famous Catherine's Cafe on Pigeon Beach is a "must" for Saturday lunchtimes when they have live music, French/Creole Garden restaurant Colibri offers a more intimate dining experience - with sensational food, a charming host and extensive cocktail menu. You will find a detailed information book on arrival, and on our website, too. Bluff House is a wonderful family house with exceptional entertaining facilities (it was the American Consulate) and a fabulous base from which to explore English Harbour and Antigua. The house is new to the rental market, having been owned by the same family for 27 years until recently. There is so much to do locally - from sailing and kayaking at The National Sailing Academy, Riding at Springhill Stables, snorkelling at Galleon Beach, tennis just down the road - or why not go on a boat charter around the island. Rum in the Ruins is a wonderful historical talk given by the National Parks Professor - fascinating and informative. We are happy to help and advise with any aspect of your visit and have on-island house managers who can help arrange an airport transfer and liaise with the driver to meet you at the house on your arrival to show you around. They are also very much around to help and advise during your stay and can provision the house for you too - nothing better than arriving to a full fridge! There's no need to hire a car but it can be done easily in English Harbour on a day by day basis and would be a great way to explore the island. We have had a house in English Harbour for the past eight years and must have walked past Bluff House hundreds of times without knowing it was there - it really is a hidden gem and a wonderful family home. We also have The Garden House which sleeps 4 in two double bedrooms. It is entirely separate, with its’ own private pool and terrace (listed separately). We have recently renovated The Pink House, which sits at the bottom of the garden. Sleeping up to 5, with incredible views plus an infinity pool and spa pool it is also available to rent separately - or all three properties can be rented together for large gatherings. Please note: As of Aug 23rd 2021 a Tourist Levy Tax of US$5 per person per night (aged 5 and under exempt) is payable locally on arrival. All twin beds can be pushed together - please ask in advance. Please also ask for bedroom configurations. As with many villas, there are some unfenced low walls with drops - please familiarise yourself with these on arrival.

This house is exactly what we were looking for traveling with our senior parents, some with light mobility issues. All main areas are on one floor with just a few steps down to the pool area. My husband and I with our two teenagers and both of our parents(65-70) all had our own space with private baths. The home was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for an amazing 10 days. Location is perfect in the heart of English Harbor, walking to Pigeon Point beach, the grocery store, Nelson’s Dockyard and exploring the area bars/restaurants. The hills are a bit of a hike but even our crew made it work and they became part of the adventure, taking a few “butterfly breaks” along the way to rest and enjoy the scenery. We dove three days with Soul Immersion based right in Falmouth and experienced the incredible under water world Antigua has to offer. Location, home, layout, communication…all spot on from our hosts and we couldn’t be more grateful! Plan to spend hours simply staring at the incredible views of the harbour and breathtaking sunsets(you can see Montserrat, too!) Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This was our second trip to Antigua and we will be back soon!
