About this house rental
Charming holiday cottage “Maison du lac” has many advantages, but doubtlessly the most important is the location. Only few private houses in Stresa are situated directly on the lakeshore, while from most of the hotels, cafes and shops one has to cross the road in order to reach the lake. Not in this case, Maison du lac is an exceptional property that has its own garden and beach right in front of the Borromeo Islands. The joy of picturesque views begins right when you enter your private garden, then continues in your cosy apartment with panoramic windows and comes to the peak while having a typical Italian dinner that our private chef cooks and serves on your beautiful terrace.
Besides the astonishingly beautiful views and location, that even best local hotels can’t boast of, the cottage features all modern comfort facilities. There is an in-floor heating, washing machine, flat screen TV, microwave oven, shower, Wi-Fi.
This little house suites perfectly as for a romantic weekend, as well as a small family vacation, here every joy of the lake is right at your feet.

The location of this stay is amazing, right on Lake Maggiore. The views from the site are gorgeous. The home is not fancy, but a great deal for the price and was perfect for the three of us. You should be aware though that, apparently according to Italian law, there is no heating available after April 14. We were there in mid-May and it just happened to be very cold overnight. If heating cannot legally be provided after April 14, it would be nice if there were some extra blankets available for cases such as ours when the temperature, perhaps unseasonably, dips. There's plenty of on-site room to park if you arrive by car. It is tricky getting back out onto the street though. There is a mirror across the street that might help, but it was not very clean and so was not helpful when we were there. To get into town (Stressa or Baveno), walking seems to be the best option. The walk to Baveno (closer than Stressa) is about 15 minutes and very pleasant, but be aware of the traffic on the street. Overall I would recommend this place for the very beautiful location. If the weather permits, you could step right into the lake for a dip!
