Situated in Palacios, this lovely house for $155 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Fair Winds is a fully equipped, 2BR/2B, bay view vacation home conveniently located in historic downtown Palacios. It is within walking distance of restaurants and some of the nicest public fishing facilities on the South Texas coast. Enjoy free, first-class amenities including a swimming beach, protected boat launch, lighted fishing pier, miles of bayside parks, playgrounds, and picnic areas, just a short walk from your front porch. Speaking of the front porch, it is the perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening cocktail. The combination living/kitchen area has a satellite TV and a sleeper sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, a four-burner cooktop with a full oven, coffee and tea bar, a microwave, and service settings for eight. All bedrooms feature lamps with USB ports for easy charging of all electronic devices. There is an additional in-law suite on the property featuring a 1/1 efficiency (sleeps 2) available for an additional nightly cost if interested. Please note the in-law suite is ONLY available to be rented by guests who rent the larger home. Hope to see you soon.

The house was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped. The large front porch provided a nice place to sit, visit and view the bay. Palacios is a very small town and super quiet in the evenings. Fair Winds is perfect for visiting with family and friends and relaxing.

Such a beautiful house with everything you need! Everything was clean and fresh, the beds and linens were so soft, over abundance of towels and supplies. I have nothing negative to say! We comfortably enjoyed our stay, and will definitely be back!

We grew up in Palacios & were so excited to be so very close to the water. We drove all over Palacios reminiscing about our younger days. It was great! The house is adorable, it was spotless, loved the porch. It was the perfect size. We will highly recommend it to family & friends. And Jan was super!!

We had the best stay here. The home is very well warm and inviting and equipped with everything you need for a great stay. We cooked most of our meals in and the kitchen was well suited and stocked for doing so. The location is great with the pier, park, and water just down the street. We hope to stay again the next time we visit.

The property owner is very sweet and accommodating, and the property was very clean, decorated nicely, and check in was a breeze. Definitely recommend for a nice relaxing retreat by the bay, and I plan on renting this property on our next visit if available!

We kept our sailboat in Palacios when we lived in the area, 20 years ago. We looked for and found this wonderful property, just a block from Matagorda Bay. It was beautifully restored by the current owner. It is a convenient location to walk to the park along the bay or to the small downtown area. It has a nice big porch across the front of the house, that is in the shade in the evening. It had one full size bed and one King size bed, each with its own private bedroom, along with a bathroom with shower/tub combo. The kitchen was well equipped but it does not have a dishwasher. That wasn't a concern since we went out to eat for most meals. The only draw back was the seating in the living room. There was a couch and 2 side chairs. It was fine for the two of us but might be a drawback for a larger group. It was decorated in a nautical theme but very tastefully done. There were games and puzzles available. We will definitely return to stay here in the future!

The place was clean and well stocked with dishes and utensils. The house was clean and well maintained. No bugs. The neighborhood cat slept on the porch and loves scraps. Close to the boat launch and fishing pier. Will stay there again.

Very welcoming and clean. The beds were super comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked however there are couple of restaurants within a few minutes walk if you did not want to cook. The bay was also just a few minutes walk. Everyone was very friendly. Needless to say we had a very relaxing time.

Absolutely perfect, but do note…
This home is beautiful, clean, well appointed and oh so very comfortable. Book it! You will not be disappointed. My note refers to the fact that there is an additional VRBO rental attached to this home. It worked perfectly for our college age son, so we rented both. This worked out perfectly. However, if I had not understood correctly that it was part of the home and someone else had rented the 1/1 it would have changed the privacy dynamics of our trip immensely. I believe the description says the additional rental is on-site.

Across the street was the snow cone place. Two blocks down was Mike's for coffee. The house was central to everything we needed. Checked in Monday afternoon, and what a nice place to stay. We were fishing and didn't do any cooking but they have everything and more. The place was like new and nice front porch with two tables and four chairs. I would rate Janice's place the best I have ever stayed in. If anyone is heading to Palacios you need to stay here, you won't find a nicer place to stay. In my next trip this will be our choice. You couldn't ask for a better place.
