About this house rental
Located in North Captiva Island, this lovely house for $825 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. SPACIOUS 4 BR. 3 BATH - sleeps 12 in beds, 2 Golf Carts, PRIVATE HEATED POOL , SPECIAL PRICING FOR MAY BOOKINGS (Inquire about last minute specials) Back in business 2/26/24 our newly renovated home from top to bottom is ready. Most of the house is completely new, especially the kitchen & baths, just add GUESTS! Let me tell you about The Birds & The Beach! Our North Captiva nest is 2400 stylish square feet indoors, and plenty of space for the whole family to enjoy outdoors. The fenced, private, heated pool is one of the largest on the island, featuring bench seating at both ends, with basketball and volleyball set ups. It is situated next to our large covered patio with cozy seating, corn hole, hammock chairs, changing room and outdoor shower. There are four levels of outdoor living space, the top floor giving peeks of water across the magnificent views! Indoors enjoy the large living area with comfy seating, books, and board games to entertain all. Island life is a great opportunity to unplug and reconnect with friends and family indoors and out. Roku is available for guests to log into their streaming services. In guest mode roku will automatically log out on your check out day. The BRAND NEW kitchen is fully stocked with the essential tools needed for gourmet cooking. Guests can also grill outdoors on the deck off the living room. There are also other options for dining. North Captiva has several private chefs who will cook for you in our home, or send a prepared meal on the ferry. There are *currently 2 restaurants to choose from - Mango’s and Over the Waterfront for dining in or takeout. OTW is currently open Wednesday- Saturday, reservation only, by texting Chef Pete 239-689-9335. *Mainstay/Barnacles is under construction expected to be open March/April 2024 This is NOT "CAPTIVA" ISLAND, our neighbor to the south was separated by a hurricane in 1921 and no bridge was ever built to connect us. North Captiva is the ultimate in private island experiences. It is four miles long, 1/2 mile wide, located 5 miles off the coast of Florida and is accessible only by ferry or boat. The only “crowd” you’ll encounter on the beautiful, shell strewn beaches are birds and crabs! Ospreys can be seen diving for dinner daily on the beach, or in the trees enjoying their catch. You will also find an abundance of tropical breezes, Florida sunshine, local island hospitality, and manatees! Dolphins can be seen feeding daily from the beach. The south end of the island boasts a 700 acre State Preserve providing sanctuary for many migratory and nesting birds, including American Bald Eagles. Hiking trails through the preserve bring guests to more of the island’s pristine beaches. One gift left by Hurricane Ian is wider beaches that allow islanders to walk all the way to Redfish Pass and wave at Captiva Island on the other side. Other island activities include kayak, boat and paddle board rentals, plus tours available for fishing, shelling, dolphin watching and island hopping. For relaxation, enjoy downtime at our pool or the beach. There are also massage appointments available to book at home or beachfront. An optional small guest fee will allow guests to use our Island Club membership to enjoy their amenities including the pools, bikes, kayaks & paddle boards. Private shuttle service is available from Fort Myers Airport with a stop for groceries before delivering you to the ferry. After a 25 minute ferry ride to North Captiva, you will be greeted, introduced to the island and delivered to our home. WE ARE HAPPY TO HOST FAMILY GROUPS, COUPLES AND RESPONSIBLE ADULTS OVER THE AGE OF 25. Our renters receive instructions for travel, ferry, grocery services and reservations for each of the restaurants. If you have questions do not hesitate to inquire! Our three-generation family had a wonderful time staying in this home on North Captiva. Having our own private pool, we found ourselves jumping in several times a day. We played lots of ping-pong and games from the game closet. The meals we cooked in the well-equipped kitchen tasted great after our busy days. All in all, this was one of the best houses we’ve ever rented!

Wonderful and Comfortable July 4 Week with Large Group!
We really enjoyed our trip to NC, and the Birds and the Beach made it especially nice and comfortable.
We were three families of four, with kids ranging from 12yo down to 6mo. The house easily accommodated us, with most of the kids able to bunk in the bunk room and a pack n play was available for the smallest.
The house was clean and comfortable, and the kitchen was well appointed. There was an ample amount of beach and pool towels, and some sand and water toys were available as well.
The rooftop deck had wonderful views, and the pool deck was a lovely place to relax and watch the kids swim. The golf carts make for easy travel around the island.
Their on-island manager/concierge, Tortuga Properties, made the stay even simpler with excellent communication before and during the trip. They arranged to pick us up from the docks and bring all 12 of us + luggage to the home, as well as returned us upon check out. They were responsive throughout the entire stay via a text number when we had any questions at all. For a reasonable fee, they stocked our groceries and drinks in advance, which makes the logistics of getting to the island way easier given you're already coming with luggage.
Would stay here again and recommend this property and Tortuga servives to family and friends.

There were some bumps in the road such as lack of comfortable beach chairs which were taken care of promptly. Water cut off once and they had it fixed within an hour. Prior occupants left pool a mess and again Tortuga came through with a fast clean up. Ordering food and drink through Tortuga was also seamless. Expensive but takes the hassle out of the trip. House accommodated our needs. Beautiful and quite island to simply relax and forget about anything and everything. As close to a remote Caribbean vacation you can find in the states.

Wonderful home, short walk to the beach and shopping area. Beaches are beautiful!!! Shop carefully for food and drink before you get there and save lots of money, bring on the ferry. Staff both on the ferry and on the island are great!!!

It was conveniently located within a short golf cart ride to restaurants and a short walk to the beach on a quiet street. Two golf carts provided gave us the freedom to do what we wanted and when without pre planning. Kitchen was well stocked although the oven, fridge, coffee maker and toaster were well loved but all in working order. Comfy beds with plenty of pillows and extra blankets. And having the pool on property was perfect for the kids. Beach chairs and toys included as well as a lot of outdoor and indoor games. The only items we would put on the future wish list before the next visit would be: foil, dish towels, coffee filters that match the coffee pot, enough paper towel, toilet paper and dish washer detergent for a group of seven staying a full week. We very much enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return.
