About this cabin rental
Nestled in Franklin D Roosevelt Lake, this attractive cabin for $280 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Come relax in our wood paneled cabin with direct access to Curlew Lake. The cabin is easily accessible from the paved road and is nestled on a quiet bay that is a no-wake zone, making it even safer for swimming, kayaking, etc. The bay is brimming with wildlife from bald eagles, osprey, heron, turtles, frogs, beavers, deer, and more! From Spring to Fall, enjoy watching the family of bald eagles that nest directly across the bay, with ideal viewing from the deck. Curlew Lake is known for its fishing, year-round. Fish from the dock or put your boat in at the public launch at the State Park. Great spot for ice fishing in the winter too. Cabin is stocked with games for all ages, and Roku for access to your streaming services. Our cabin includes a large open kitchen with stone counter tops and new appliances, 3 bedrooms that sleep 8 comfortably, plus a carpeted loft with space to put down sleeping bags. Spacious closets in each bedroom. Large covered deck with a gas grill. In cold weather warm up around the wood stove. Great spot for families, small group, or a couples weekend. Lots to do nearby, or just relax and enjoy the natural views. Located near the charming town of Republic, hikes and cross-country skiing in the Colville National Forest and the Kettle Crest and PNW Trail, biking and walking on the nearby Ferry County Rail to Trail (the former train trestle bridge is around a 10 minute walk from cabin), horseback trail riding tours available locally. Popular area for hunting. Even the drive on the Scenic Sherman Byway is itself a treat. In addition to ice fishing and nordic skiing, Winter activities also include snowmobiling and some families enjoy ice skating on the lake! If coming during winter months, we highly recommend a 4WD vehicle to handle snow given the slope of the driveway. The former gold mining town of Republic offers local eateries, a microbrewery (that also has great rootbeer and homemade sodas!), quaint independent shops, natural food store, outdoor gear place, ice cream, pizzeria, grocery store, hardware store, library, etc. As the county seat, Republic also a hospital. Near the center of town is the Stonerose Fossil Site, where both kids and adults will have fun digging and exploring for ancient fossils. The Eagle Race Track hosts car races on many weekends. A different experience awaits in each of the 4 seasons. Come relax, enjoy, and make memories!

We had an amazing time at the cabin!!!! It was comfortable, clean and the owners are extremely hospitable and easy to communicate with! We will definitely be back!!! Highly reccommend! Not to mention, the house is absolutely beautiful!!

Normally the family chooses ocean stays, this time it was my turn to pick and I found this place. It exceeded ALL expectations! Beautiful location right on the lake. The balcony had a wonderful couch that I spent hours reading on. The family spent most of the time in the water floating, kayaking and having a nice relaxing time. The view was spectacular and the view for sunset was heavenly. The place was stocked with towels, extra pillows and blankets. They also had extra locks at the tops of the sliding glass door and all other doors which was perfect since my 4 yr old nephew just learned to unlock doors. They had a huge assortment of games and access to all streaming platforms. Any questions I had were answered promptly by John. This cabin will be saved for next time, absolutely a must try vacation spot!

Had a great time at this cozy cabin on Curlew Lake. Off the deck we saw eagles, osprey, blue heron, and turkey vultures. Turtles, beaver, muskrat and deer in and around the lake. Pulled small and large mouth bass, perch and trout right off the dock. Very calm and peaceful part of the lake. The cute campground resort less than a mile south had a very small grocery store and cute restaurant. Was nice of John to check in and make sure everything was going well. We would definitely return!

The house was beautiful and had everything we needed. The upstairs had a gaming area and a TV area so if you had teens and children, it would be great for them. Unfortunately, our teens weren’t able to come but they would’ve loved it. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. I think my favorite thing is sitting on the porch in the morning watching the birds and the deer.

The cabin was excellent. We especially appreciated the fully appointed kitchen and full sized deck. One of our party commented on how clean the barbecue was. He prepared the entire dinner he committed to on that barbecue.
Lake access was a little bit limited by not having a gentle slope on either side of the dock from which to launch our float tubes. In our case, it turned out not to be an issues.
Luckly, we had access to a roomy aluminum boat and a great nearby place to launch the boat with free multi-day storage, nearby Curlew State Park.
Future guests who are coming for the fishing should be advised of the really nice feature--free launching and trailer parking at the state park--as long as you possess a Washington State fishing license or guest permit.
A Discovery permit, ($30), usually required of campers, is not required for simply parking a vehicle and/or trailer for multiple days.
While the hosts warned us about the limited parking, it was perfectly adequate for our three vehicles.
We all especially appreciated the comfy, air conditioned space after a long, hot day on the water, and I really appreciated the great water pressure in the shower. I wasn't expecting that.
This is a great place to take a group fishermen.

Wonderful cabin! It was a perfect retreat for our ice fishing getaway. The cabins layout is very open, with lots of seating, and the kitchen has tons of counter space. The owners/hosts have knocked it out of the park with the accomodations!

We really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room for our family. Lots of wood for the fire and games to play as we watched the snow come down. The owner was very responsive. We hope to come back again.

Every year we take at least 2 trips to curlew and this is far and away our favorite place to stay. John is great to work with and communicates well. The house is the perfect location for great views and time to relax. I can't recommend this any more. It's simply a must! Thanks John for allowing to stay. We look forward to many more memories in the future.

Great place to hang out and watch the Bald Eagle family, beaver and other creatures wonder right up close and personal. Kayaking up the Curlew creek was so amazing. We bicycled around the lake and enjoyed the ease of living on the lake. Thank you for a fun few days.

Serene Weekend Get-Away
My friend and I were looking for a weekend getaway with our children near the Stonerose Fossil site and this home was perfect for our needs. There was plenty of room for us to spread out with the upstairs loft and we slept well in the comfortable beds. The setting with the view of the lake was so peaceful and we saw so much wildlife...bald eagles, osprey, otters, deer, and turtles. Just a short walk from the house is an entrance to a rail-to-trail path with a fun bridge across the lake. The owners were communicative and pleasant to work with. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the place very much, no complaints at all, some suggestions from our stay would be to repair the sliding glass door so it’s slides bucket, update the tv to newer smart tv, and stress how limited the parking is in the winter. Just some general feedback, we had a great time and would recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in that area.

Great getaway every time
We have been coming to Curlew Lake for the past three years. We have always enjoyed our stay at this home. We were a little concerned with the new owners but they proved to be just as friendly welcoming and easy to work with as the previous owner. We had a wonderful time
