Each villa is totally independent with separate entrances, they are both nestled in a mature tropical garden with breathtaking sea views in a splendid setting of a private tropical garden, near the famous West Bay Beach with the best restaurants, beach bars, dive shops, gourmet and coffee shops, souvenirs, scooters rentals, pharmacies, etc. The villas share spacious outdoor areas, a panoramic pool, an outdoor kitchen with a BBQ grill, and Palapas/Gazebos. Villas Descanso has: Belvedere: Room #1: With 1 king bed Room #2: With 1 queen bed Living room with 1 sofa bed 2.5 Bathrooms Dining room Fully equipped kitchen Villa Casa Nueva: Room #1: With 1 king bed Room #2: With 1 king bed Room #3: With 1 queen bed and 1 single bed Room #4: With 1 queen bed Room #5: With 1 queen bed 4 Bathrooms Living room Dining room Fully equipped kitchen * 2 of the 5 bedrooms in Casanueva are outside the villa at the bottom of the stairs (2 separate bedrooms, each with a private bathroom) each with a private entrance. *Keep in mind that since we are on an island, power outages happens unexpectedly and there is only a generator for Villa Casanueva. so in case of a power outage, you will have electricity and hot water in Villa Casanueva. Distance to Villas Descanso: -If you travel by plane, the distance from the Juan Manuel Galvez Airport to the Villa is 30 to 40 minutes. -If you travel by ferry, the distance from the Galaxy Wave and Roatan Dream Ferry is 35 to 45 min. What is near the property? -West Bay Beach is 10 minutes from the Villa. -West Bay Mall -Restaurants and bars Safety and Preference -Private Entrance -Access to Villas Descanso include stairs -Security 24/7 -Minimum Age Required (21) -No pets allowed -No Smoking. -No parties inside the property. -The deepest zone of the pool is 10 ft. rising to 4 ft. Guest Access: Breakfast Buffet: Available at Infinity Bay Resort's Restaurant (West Bay) for a cost of $23 per person/ per day. Additional Information * Electricity is private on the island making everything more expensive & water is also valuable. Please be mindful of the electricity and water usage. Turn off the AC when you leave the property or if you have the doors or windows open. NOTE: If the AC remains ON permanently during your stay, additional charges may apply, ask us for more details * Additional charge of $100+ for check-in or check-out before or after the established time (4:00 PM and 11:00 AM respectively). We were warmly greeted and given a tour of the home by Nicole. Accompanied by 11 family members, we all comfortably slept in beds. The beach is a 10-minute walk away. The Villa is amazing, but the lack of security around the house was its only flaw. There is no gate, door, or fence to deter people from entering the property from the street. Our first encounter with this issue happened when my son and I noticed an unknown man walking onto the property and heading towards the pool. Initially concerned, we later discovered he was a pool cleaner. It would have been better if we had been informed about this routine. Another incident occurred around 8:30 pm when a female family member encountered an unknown man near Casa Nueva (the second house on the property). He was under the steps. Despite trying to communicate, he claimed not to speak English and left the premises. We contacted the management company, who explained that the man was their employee checking on a neighboring property and decided to check ours because it looked dark. It was nighttime, we didn't request anyone to service the home, so it was disturbing why an unknown person would be on the property at night without notifying us. The only other issue was that the master bedroom provided cool air instead of cold air, to the point where my wife and I slept without sheets. We contacted management, but it was never fixed. Nonetheless, the positives outweighed the negatives. We had a great time!
