We just finished our week stay at this location. While the location to the store and the beach can’t be beat, there are some concerns I would have with renting this property again. The neighbors next door do play music into the late nights and while I can forgive a Friday/Saturday we were struggling with a Tuesday/Wednesday evening issue. There is a noise ordinance phone number you can call if it gets really bad, but annoying and a hassle to deal with on vacation. The houses were clean and fit all 10 of us very comfortably. Each home was a bit sparse on seating and there wasn’t a lot of supplies in either kitchen, so cooking certain meals we had to get creative. The caretaker for this property was extremely helpful and easy to get a hold of. We had some issues getting into the house but he helped us quickly with that as there was confusion with codes. We did have internet issues the last 2 days of the trip in the lower house.

When you pay $9,000 a week for two units, you would hope that they have 1) working umbrella on the patio, 2) bedroom doors that are not keyed (kids can lock themselves out), and 3) new batteries in the smoke alarms. Just a few issues that made the stay here a bit stressful. They did replace the umbrella, but they still have all interior door knobs and alarm batteries to replace. Otherwise, units had plenty of space, nice master bedroom setups with private bathrooms, and the location is great for quick run to beach!

Our experience here was plagued with issues from the start. The property had a lot of issues that on their own would not have probably been huge issues but the combination of them resulted in an unsatisfactory stay. The home must have been recently painted which was likely the result of many of the issues. The code to get into the unit was not correct. We were forced to stay in the lower unit until they could get us the code for the upper unit as well. (We rent both top and bottom) After communicated with multiple people we were able to gain access to the rental. The upstairs reeked of fresh paint and the walls were all still sticky. The issues don’t stop here. We had multiple people that were working while on this trip and needed internet access. The internet did not work. We called in and we’re told it worked when they were their earlier. They told us that they did not start working until 11 the following day but would be out there around there. Meanwhile, we have multiple guests that have been forced to work at Starbucks for an 8 hour shift to get intent access. The internet issue was resolved but unfortunately a little late for what we needed it for. The listing as talks about how quiet the neighborhood is. They talk about the lengths that they will go in order to make sure the guests keep the neighborhood quiet. I appreciate what they are trying to do here. That being said, there is no quiet literally a band that lives RIGHT next door. They routinely have band practice from about 8 pm to approximately 1 am. 4 out of the 5 nights to be exact. Our comments to our hosts were met with yes unfortunately they have received complaints in the past. I understand there is nothing they can likely do to prevent this. It just feels inaccurate to label this as a quiet neighborhood when that just isn’t the case. Overall the place was okay. The location is fantastic. It is very close to the beach and located around quiet a few shops. I hope that our experience here is an anomaly. I feel like there were a lot of details missed prior that would have resulted in a more enjoyable time here.

I don’t care if you approve this review or not. I’ve submitted it twice, and it has not met with your approval, too bad, not doing it again . There is no address associated with this review but there should be. For two days, automatic garage door did not work. Neighborhood is very crowded, parking on streets nearby is difficult if not impossible at times. Code did not work on door for unit B- took several hours to access the place because they took that long to issue new code. Wasted vacation time on Wednesday and all day Thursday waiting for a repair man to show up that they said would be there in the morning. to repair garage door. Neighbors next store played music till mid nite, neighborhood very noisy in evening. Unit A- downstairs definitely needs updating. Screen door needs to be fixed, kept falling off. Drapes across sliding door very dirty. Lower unit could use a good cleaning. Unit B upgraded and better except stairs very steep and no good lighting at bottom of stairs when you walk in at night. Very dark in side area where you enter units A and B. Trash cans line the back section of the side area where you enter units. Flies are bad around first floor unit A. Would not stay in rental again. We are used to renting with VRBO through a private property owner. This time it was a company named Vacasa. I won't ever rent from them again. Unlike a private owner, they didn't respond to emails as quick, their "call center" didn't give as much information as I wanted, and there were problems. Since there wasn't a personal owner, there was only a call center to report them to. We rented both "A" and "B", two separate places that are attached. "A" was more clean, and better furnished. "B" had many problems. When we first got there, someone sat on a chair and it tipped over because one of the legs was broken prior to our arrival. Later another chair had a leg come out, we were able to put it back in. It wasn't very clean, I swept and wiped down many things with the Lysol that I bought. There was a mess with gooey stuff under the kitchen sink, probably a dishwasher pod(s) broke and oozed out. They gave us about 25 pods. (Why so many?) The area under the sink, and dish drain were also dirty. I cleaned them. There wasn't an area rug around the couch and table, so we sat on the wood floor. A rug would have been better, since we had little kids. In the kitchen there wasn't a cutting board, so I bought something that would work for the time that we were there. The worst part was that in one of the bedrooms there was some kind of bug infestation in the window area. Throughout the day, and during the night, a lot of small black bugs (that were alive) would land on the bed/floor, etc. It was really gross! Every day and night we had to shake the bugs off the bed. Since it was a very hot week for Newport Beach, (around 90 degrees) we had to leave the window open. I won't ever rent from Vacasa again. The trip was fun, but there were too many problems that we shouldn't have to deal with on a vacation.

Stayed here with a group to celebrate my wife’s birthday. You cannot beat this value. Less than a 5 minute walk to the beach and boardwalk. Walking distance to any restaurant and grocery store.
