Home was beautiful, hoping for a bit more privacy. Very clean, lots of things provided. Smell of water was awful and turned my jewelry brown. Overall though it was great!

What a fabulous historic home in a lovely location. We enjoyed walking the trail, sitting by the fire pit, playing the games and building puzzles. The local canoe creek state park is fabulous and worth a visit. We will be back!

Great property and great location! The six adults and two children along with our family dog had a wonderful visit to this area. The home was very clean with plenty of space and very comfortable. The hike trials are literally out the front door. We had grat fun with walks on the snowy trails. We will be back for adventures in the summer/fall. Awsome viist to theis well maintained property.

While the property photos were appealing, sometimes the arrival meets disappointment. This property is just the opposite. We were delighted by the spaciousness and ample window light in a rural house. Additionally, the house comes with a fully stocked kitchen and dining room, comfortable living area and tasteful bedrooms. We recommend this property without reservation.

Love the character in old homes and this does not disappoint. It is well kept and clean. Having the fire pit was a big plus since temps dropped down to the 30s at night. Host is quick to respond and neighbors seem to keep to themselves.

The property was beautiful. Rented for a weekend and had a family reunion on Sat. Big yard, kitchen was huge as well. Plenary of room for everyone to have a great time. The owner thought of everything. Extra towels, sheets, toiletries ect…. The house is beautiful. Like stepping back in history! Would rent this again!

I do not have enough good things to say about this amazing house, property and location. The house has incredible charm. It is a beautiful old stone house with lots of history but has all modern amenities inside. The beds were very comfortable and there are multiple tables in both the kitchen, dining room and sunroom to eat. The fenced yard was huge and perfect for our dogs. The house is located right off of a beautiful long trail for walking, running or bike riding. There is also lots to do in the surrounding areas. The host was extremely responsive to my questions. I would highly recommend staying in this VRBO home if you are in that area !!

Charming, good location to lots of state parks and lakes, well equipped, lovely yard, great neighbors, the walking path on the canal is a real bonus.

This house is incredible, one of the best houses my family and I have ever rented! The house is so charming, very clean, and well-stocked with essential items (soaps, linens, detergents, etc.). We love that the hosts kept the historical feel while upgrading some amenities for comfort (central air, updated bathrooms, very comfortable beds). The location couldn’t be beat and we enjoyed walking the Lower Trail daily. We also spent time grilling outside and enjoying the beautiful yard. Without hesitation, we’d love to stay here again. This gracious and comfortable home was the perfect base camp for our family for Penn State graduation. It is a beautiful 45 minute drive from campus. The location took us out of the hubbub in town and gave us time and space to relax and celebrate. The three bedrooms each with a clean, modern bathroom makes it easy to travel with multiple family units. The kitchen is big, charming and well stocked. We cooked all of our meals in the house and it was a pleasure in that kitchen. The living spaces are generous and very comfortable. The yard is large and fenced. The house is situated in a very historic and picturesque spot, right on a walking and biking trail that we used that each day. Two days of our stay were rainy and the house was a great place to hang out indoors. Our last day was sunny and we got a taste of all of the outdoor opportunities the area affords. The owners were very responsive when we had questions and the house itself had everything we needed, and then some! We would love to go again and explore all that the area has to offer.

As stated in the house description, cell signal is not very good and I couldn't get access to my emails once I got there. I had to go into town to get to the email and see what the house looked like from the outside. The house number being put on the front door would be helpful. A very nice historic property. Its location by the river and walking trail was ideal. The fenced in yard for the dogs was an unexpected plus. The only downside was the water pressure is low. It would not deter me from renting it again.
