More… Farmington is not much bigger than a small town yet one of the largest in New Mexico. It is a central hub for commerce for outlying small towns and the Navajo Nation. The marina (+1 (505) 632-3245) has decent rental prices on both party barges and small water crafts. Day trips to Durango Colorado area attractions are very doable. In high school, my buddy and I’d often did ski trips to Purgatory Mountain in a day. Farmington Lake is a very short drive away and is a wonderful place to go and relax without having to travel too far.
