This was a huge disappointment for us and we never ended up checking in. Currently disputing the credit card charge to get our money back from VRBO. We never received proper/standard VRBO/Host check in details prior to checking in. Since we were checking in after the sun went down (as we spent the day at Zion National Park) proper check in details needed to be offered to us and were not. For example, wagon number with proper map or written instructions to onsite location, lock box/key access availability if any, etc. was not offered until the next day after check in. We messaged the host the night of check in to get more standard check in information and we received no response. We called VRBO twice and got the run around with two international customer service people. One person claiming they were the host when they clearly had no details to give and were in another country. We spent hours on the phone messaging and calling VRBO/Host. What a waste of a night of our vacation. Also, the VRBO search ad for “ZION” rentals showed the wagon first in location to the park. Well, once you do receive the address it is an hour away from the ZION park. Totally false advertising and such a disappointment. When you are an out of state customer searching for local housing in a specific location where you have never visited, an hour drive in the mountains away from your requested destination is a long way to drive to and from. Especially when you are requesting housing in the “Zion” park area. When we finally did receive check in details the next day after our check in date the details mentioned the google map directions can steer you wrong. Well, driving at night in a new mountain location with wrong google map info would have been a nightmare. Glad we didn’t do it. We had to pay three times the amount of the wagon for a hotel room the night of our wagon stay and we were so disappointed all the way around. We still haven’t heard any follow up or apology from the host or VRBO.

I reached out to the owner a before booking with concerns about if the wagons would be sufficiently warm in the winter months. I have a 6 year old with Autism and I would have never stayed if the owner was honest with the conditions of the wagon. I specifically asked if this was closer to a tent/yurt (which it is), instead I was told that this would a be perfect stay for my family. I was so excited about this unique stay and we drove 4 hours out of the way to stay here. However when we arrived we were given a small propane heater, told not to turn it higher then "medium" and warned that the heater may turn off due to carbon monoxide poisoning. If that was to happen we would need to stay out side for a few hours while the wagon aired out. It was absolutely freezing never getting warmer then 38 degrees and was 24 degrees through the early hours of the morning 3am-6am (there was an electric thermometer on the ac unit so we knew how cold it was). We could see our breath the whole time. The wagon is made out of a canvas material so when the snow on top started to melt, freezing water was dripping into the wagon and running down then walls then re-freezing on the floor. There was then little pools of ice and it was very very slippery to walk around. There was a cold dampness through out now that made it impossible to get warm. Even with extra blankets it wasn't enough - I woke up fully at 4 am to find the top layer of blankets covered in frost. The only bathroom is a community bathroom located at the bottom of steep slippery hill. This whole stay is super impractical for a 6 year old - let alone someone with special needs. There is no way someone can say that they would expect a child to stay bundled up under the covers not able to leave the bed due to the freezing condition and then have to get on all their winter gear in order to go potty - meanwhile I'm praying they don't have an accent in their snow pants. I explained all this to the owner and tried to reach out multiple times for a refund and the owner is non-responsive. I've reached out to the help desk through vrbo but without a response from the owner we can't move forward. I'm sure this is a great stay durning the summer months however I can only comment on my personal experience. If you are looking for a place to stay in the cold months - buyer beware.

I loved the place and location. The stars really come out at night. We were going to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and stopped here the night before. When I messaged the host asking about check in procedures I received paragraph after paragraph of everybody's favorite... directions. Ignore the pin and directions that they send. Google maps will take you right to the location. Just stop at the front desk to check in.
