This is an amazing space to get together with family or friends. I loved the decor. The kitchen was fully functional. The seating was comfortable. There are so many different areas to sit. Some of our group played cards, others watched TV and others just had a chance to visit and catch up. The small room at the entrance was great for our new mom to take her baby to feed her and then rock her to sleep. Our family will definitely keep this property in mind when we come back to the family land for other family events. We also enjoyed the Prairie Rose cafe.

Outstanding location. Clean and well presented/decorated inside. The kitchen was well appointed and we enjoyed cooking in there.

The Kirch Haus is definitely cute and quaint, and the idea of staying in an old church is charming in theory. Unfortunately, our actual experience was far from comfortable.Every single morning, we woke up to an alarming number of dead flies scattered throughout the house—on the floors, counters, and other surfaces. There is a large fly-attracting device mounted on the wall with a bright blue light, but despite that, we still had to vacuum up multiple piles of flies each day. It was extremely unpleasant and honestly pretty disgusting. While the building itself has character, there is zero privacy or soundproofing throughout the downstairs area. You can hear everything from every room. In addition, most of the sinks are set very high, which makes basic tasks like washing hands or brushing teeth difficult for shorter guests. This property is also absolutely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. There is no ADA-compliant entrance, and navigating steps is unavoidable. Anyone who struggles with stairs or needs accessibility accommodations would not be able to stay here safely or comfortably.Overall, the charm of the house doesn’t outweigh the practical issues we encountered.
