About this house rental
This victorian style home is located at the heart of Jim Thorpe, neighboring the Asa Packer Mansion and the Harry Packer Mansion. Only half a block from the town train station which offers scenic rides in between the mountains. The apartment has a direct view of the surrounding mountains and the Lehigh river and is located at the entrance of the switchback Trail. It has plenty of parking space and direct access to this beautiful trail leading to the Mauch Chunk Lake Park.

We truly appreciated the cleanliness and the home feeling environment. Jim Thorpe also made it very pleasant. The surrounding area was beneficial for shopping and our train ride.

The stay was awesome! Only small thing was the sixth bedroom was conjoined to the king bedroom. Didn’t end up being a problem because we were all close enough for it to not be awkward, but just wanted to put that in here. Truly don’t let that deter you from choosing this stay! Patricia, the host, was very responsive when contacted.The location is prime, very close to main strip in town, but just far enough to enjoy some peace and quiet. If going to town, just be aware of the huge hill, walking down was no problem, but the walk up was killer. The house was very clean, plenty of space for all of us that stayed there. Plenty of towels and bedding for everything.

What was really amazing was when you stand on the back porch and looked down over the town of Jim Thorpe covered with snow. The house was in a great location to everything. Love the old woodwork in the house. I would definitely stay there again.

I was surprised at some of the house conditions. The front porch was dirty and not welcoming at all as well as the back porch. The grill was rusty and had a cigarette lying on it. The kitchen floor was dirty. Some positive comments are it was great location, the house was large and could accommodate a group, there is parking for 3-4 cars.
