Pictures do not do it justice, let's just start there. My husband chose this location for his 50th birthday celebration with two of his life long friends in attendance. The entire trip was an adventure that started with Mark's PDF instructions full of planning tips and suggestions, not one of which didn’t hit the bullseye. We took a Jeep, not really necessary ( although we did explore some areas that probably would have been hiked otherwise), and as we pulled up to our first slot in the reservation queue for the ferry, it made it that much more fun. The ferry appeared, and the adventure continued towards the island as we drove aboard, and set off, watching absolutely stunning scenery the whole way, with some dolphins thrown in to make it that much more over the top. Off the ferry and on to the house was simple, and a couple miles down a dirt road 541 Jericho Bay Road appeared, simple and non-descript, an ocean for a back yard. It was stunning. This home is literally perched on the ocean, and we spent every night on the deck watching sunsets each more spectacular than the last, followed by stargazing that a pile of words here would do little justice to, complete with a meteor shower that dazzled us for hours. The house was clean, bedrooms were beautiful (the master is wonderfully excessive), kitchen was big, and the living room provided a view that I can’t say enough about. I will be coming back, and staying with Mark again.

We had such a lovely time during our stay. We were overwhelmed by the views the house offered, each night held a vibrant sunset framed by coastal trees. The house is full of light and windows, and the porch is very comfortable. As a family of artists we spent a lot of time painting out on the porch. We also really appreciated the well equipped kitchen and the open style of kitchen, dining, and living rooms allowed everyone to feel together even if we were doing different things. A great week, indeed.

Very clean & no clutter. I was alone for the first 5 nights. My niece and sister joined me for the last couple of days. The weather was cool to cold, and it happened to be quite foggy as well. I certainly missed a clock there was none in the place. I thought it was a pleasant location with wonderful views.

We housed our family in this house for the occasion of our son’s wedding. They were absolutely thrilled with the house. Clean, spacious, plenty of bathrooms. The best part is the large deck with comfortable seating and the amazing sunset views.

The house was fantastic. The view of the ocean was fantastic and the house was comfortable and clean. Would definitely book again in the future. The hosts provided detailed info about the house and the island that was very helpful. Loved our stay.

Our week on Swan's Island in this lovely home was wonderful. Sparkling clean, great amenities (from a nicely stocked kitchen to comfy beds). Mark was a wonderful host, making sure we had the details on all of the logistics, and coordinating our arrival time with the ferry . He also offered lots of info on the island, and suggestions for what to do. Swan's Island is special--a quiet community that still relies on fishing and honest, hard work. We love everything about it. This was one of our best experiences ever with a rental. Can't wait to return next year!

SIGN ME UP !!!! The experience starts as soon as you get on the ferry. Get ready to wave to everyone on the island as you drive by, on the way to the beautiful home you are about to enter (that's how the island is, seriously). The home guide Mark sends you tells you everything you need to know, thanks Mark. Lucky enough to spend two glorious weeks, first just my husband and I, then two nieces drove from Florida. The road to the home easy and well maintained, feels like you are in a private world that you are lucky enough to be invited to. The whole two weeks we encountered under 50 people and we even went to an open studio art show during our stay. That being said you do need to bring all the food and liquid refreshments that you need, this wasn't our first rodeo so no problem. Tims general store is good for little things but bring everything, there is a great organic farm right before South west harbor to stock up. Sure you can go off the Island to sightsee or get provisions, but once you get to the house you will NOT want to leave except to explore the Island itself. We rented bikes in Southwest Harbor, the comfort bikes were great on the gravel road. As for the house the pictures just don't show how lovely it is, the photos make it look sparse but the design aesthetic is perfect to accentuate the wonders beyond the windows. Well done, rich comfortable and perfect, I did bring flowers from my garden at home to complete the look. Deck furniture top notch but we did bring a few of our own to sit in a different areas of the expansive deck. FYI two additional decks off the primary bedroom, perfect for coffee or cocktails. Kitchen and laundry well equipped with quality items and machines, so don't pack too many clothes, but do pack some sweaters and good gear to keep warm on cool July evenings. One suggestion, ice machine. Tims only gets ice once a week but we made it work ( nieces brought ice from the mainland). SUNSETS, wildlife, watching the lobstermen in front of the home perfect. Oh yeah the schooners sailing transports you to the Heaven on Earth this home creates for the short time we were there, Mark and Family thank you for sharing the beauty of the coast of Maine. I could go on and on !!! Peace
