The apartment was central to the beautiful village of Bourg D’Oisans. It was well equipped and well laid out. It was a quiet area and the apartment itself was quiet. The host was good at communicating. It was close to a supermarket, laundry and restaurants.
There was nothing we didn’t like.

Good location. Clean.
The sofa bed was uncomfortable, and the bathroom smelt a little damp.
The biggest issue was the last minute request to follow a link to a website outside of booking.com and provide credit card details to secure a €300 damage deposit. We were told we wouldn’t get the code to access the property until this was done. This had all the hallmarks of a scam message - it turned out not to be, but this caused a lot of anxiety on the day we were arriving. We contacted booking.com who advised us not to provide any details outside of the App as they facilitate all payments. At this point we still weren’t sure if this was the owner or a scam (and having previously received scam messages via the booking.com App asking for card details I’m super cautious about similar messages - something becoming more common sadly). Following booking.com’s advice we refused to do it. Only when the owner relented and gave us the code did we know for sure that it wasn’t. This wasn’t mentioned at the time of booking.
