My stay at La Muñequita Lodge was outstanding. The owners were incredibly welcoming, the rooms were comfortable, and the food was absolutely delicious.
What truly set this place apart was the kindness of the owner. After I had items stolen from my bicycle the day before I arrived, he went far beyond anything I could have expected. He spent the entire next day driving me to multiple police offices, helping translate and explain my situation in hopes of recovering my belongings. His generosity, patience, and willingness to help a complete stranger meant the world to me.
I can’t recommend La Muñequita Lodge enough. If you’re looking for genuine hospitality from people who truly care about their guests, this is the place to stay.

Puur natuur, leven zoals de mensen hier leven. Alleraardigste gastheer, lieve mensen, leuk vrijwilligers te ontmoeten en samen te eten wat de pot schaft. Leuk wandelen rondom huis en in de buurt. Vanaf balkon apen en vogels spotten. Na een korte fase van wennen (back to basic) uiteindelijk een hartstikke leuke plek met veel couleur locale.
In eerste instantie even wennen aan de wat armoedige woning en basic inrichting, maar al snel voelden we ons thuis en bleek het schoner dan we aanvankelijk dachten.

Das Essen war sehr gut, die Lage geradezu einzigartig, mitten im Grünen bei vollständig offenem Häuschen (nur Moskitonetz), das Aufwachen von geradezu laustarkem Vogelgezwitscher war großartig...
Als Sprungbrett nach Corcovado (ob Drakebay oder Puerto Jimenez/Carate) geradezu perfekt geeignet! Das Frühstück war hervorragend mit köstlichem Gallo Pinto!
Das Häuschen ist zwar recht gut ausgestattet, aber nicht gerade komfortabel. Dennoch unbedingt zu empfehlen, wenn man einen Trip nach Corcovado plant und nicht von weiter nördlich kommend den ganzen Weg dorthin an einem Tag fahren möchte.
