The property was beautiful and felt very homely. It was nice and clean and had everything you need. Small details make a big difference and owners made sure there was everything you may need.

The hosts were exceptional, I received great communication before and during the stay. Making sure everything was fine and asking if I needed anything extra (which I didn't as the property and it's facilities were outstanding) I made a request to have an earlier check in time, this wasn't a problem, a small extra fee (which I was happy to pay) and it was done. Great flexibility. The host also gave an extensive welcome message, with all the information needed for my stay. Great local insights like things to do and food recommendations, something people take for granted with Google being so widely used, however, the one restaurant that was recommended by our host did not come up on Google. We visited said restaurant and it was excellent. This really shows local knowledge trumps any search engine or forums available. The facilities were outstanding. The building itself had ample room, far more room for just the two of us during my visit. The kitchen had everything you could need, pots, pans, coffee (both instant and use of the coffee machine) cutlery cooking utensils even washing up liquid and cooking oil (usually the things that we buy before as no one goes to that much effort) The main bedroom (with ensuite) was a great size, really comfy bed. The ensuite with its waterfall shower head was also up to a very high spec. We didn't use the second bedroom but it also has an ensuite with a bath (this room will be perfect for when we plan to stay again in the future with our two young children) The downstairs living area, with a door that spans the whole side of the house that can be opened fully to take in the stunning scenery outside, table and chairs, two very comfortable sofas and a large TV, this was a great spot to sit down and chill, play some games (also included) and eat. When the side door is open it also gives you instant access to the outside decking area where the hot tub is located.

The only thing to quibble about and I will caveat with this: this is a me issue and not something the host or house keeping would have known. When we arrived the property was very hot, it was a sunny day outside of around 22(ISH)°c and the heating had been turned on. There could be a very good reason for this and the fix was quick and easy. Turn the heating off and open the side door. This was the smallest inconvenience and like I say this is just a personal preference, I'm sure some people wouldn't have minded this at all.

The property was in a gorgeous area with some lovely views and all aspects of the property were amazing! It was clean comfy and felt very homely.

When you like to have relaxing break this lodge can offer you such. As a family, with youngest is 4 years old we had an incredible time. She loved the hot tub thinking is her big bath tub 😀. As soon as we step in the house we felt home, settled well, and well informed for everything we need to do during our stay. Our girls loved their bedroom as very comfy. Bathrooms are beautiful.It was very easy to find and shops were nearby. Wifi is excellent speed and add to a very kind host that making sure you are having a great time and well rested. As our eldest daughter had a great result in her GCSE it’s time to celebrate too. My girls dont want to leave as they are having a beautiful time. When Daniela and Martyn knew that my girls want to stay more they offered for another night as it has a vacant night before a new guest comes the next day which is very kind of them 💜. Whatever you see photos of the lodge is definitely the ones you get when you stay there. We can’t wait to come back and stay again in this beautiful lodge.

For me maybe a mop could help as my little one keeps coming in and out the hot tub to make the floor dry. But no worries the floor is tiled so it does not make our stay less great.
