Villa Kalaitsidi ist in einem kleinen Dorf gelegen (vllt ein paar hundert Einwohner), ganz oben auf dem Hügel mit toller Aussicht über die Gegend. Die Gastgeber waren super freundlich und aufmerksam, jederzeit erreichbar und hatten uns schon frisches Obst bereitgestellt zur Ankunft. Die Ausstattung ist gut, vor allem das große Badezimmer und die vielen Ecken zum Sitzen (drinnen und draußen) haben uns gefallen. Auch am Pool auf den neuen Liegen haben wir viel Zeit verbracht :)
Wir fanden nur die Jalousien und Fliegengitter sehr umständlich, weil man sie nicht gut öffnen konnte, das könnte noch modernisiert werden (so wie im Wintergarten)

Great host, always available. The village is quite small and there’s not really a lot of stuff, but chania and platanias are a 20min drive away
The pool is not really a pool, it’s more a small tank. for the kids it’s ok though, but for adults I don’t think it’s enough.

10+ for the host! He cooked a fantastic grill dinner for us and gave us some olive oil when we left.
The location was great, with oranges, avocados and lemons everywhere. The village is nice, with a good taverna and a minimarket. The view from the villa is nice and the gardens are well manteneid.
You can find everything you need in the villa, or ask the host and he will bring you.
The pool is quite small, we didn't use it. There is only one air conditioner placed on the hall of the first floor. One room is really small and it doesn't have a proper bed, but an uncomfortable sofa. The coffee filter was dirty.

Great house and fantastic location if you're into the local villages and looking for true experiences on Crete. The Villa was very comfortable with everything you might need, all the amenities, comfy rooms, clean and just as good as we expected. The hosts are super friendly, smiling and good people, they did everything to make us feel welcome and at home. They were also respecting our privacy even though they stayed right next to the Villa in their own small home. We enjoyed the garden and small pool, though we didn't get into it as it was a bit cold already. Anyway the garden is very well kept and atmospheric, certainly a lot of hard work was put into it :) We were lucky to have 2 fantastic local tavernas with very good food, which were not that expensive as in the bigger, more touristic places on Crete.
We didn't use the sauna as it was only available at additional charge which was not mentioned in the offer (or I missed it?), we loved the place and the hosting family nonetheless but we would like to see the information about extra fees clearly stated upfront. Everything else was fine and we highly recommend the place and our hosts!
