We stayed at The Jumbo Homestay for 11 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time here! The staff were very helpful and kind. We rented a scooter from them for a day to go to some nearby beaches, but spent most of the time walking around the Kuta area. There's plenty to see and do nearby.
The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious (a slight drain smell when we turned on the bathroom fan, but once we figured this out, it went away). The hot water worked well. There was a slight leak in our bathroom sink when we arrived but this was fixed immediately.
The bed was comfortable but I would recommend bringing earplugs/be aware that the homestay is close to a mosque, which is very loud during call to prayer in the early morning.
They have a filtered water dispenser in the breakfast area as well as near the rooms upstairs, which also has hot water.
The free breakfast was fantastic - fresh fruit, toast, and tea/coffee, and we were offered eggs each day too, in whichever way we wanted them cooked.
Overall we had a fantastic time and want to say a big thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome.
My only feedback would be to have door handle tags to let staff know whether we want our room cleaned that day, which would make it a bit easier to communicate our preferences.
Also, keep in mind that the building under construction, with some areas upstairs exposed without railing, so this might not be suitable for kids.

Had a very enjoyable 4 night stay here. The staff are absolutely lovely and helpful. They collected us from Bangsal ferry port and dropped us off at the airport when we left (additional charge but stress free). They also arranged scooters - these are pretty essential in our view as the real beauty definitely sits outside of Kuta itself with some stunning beaches less than 20 minutes away.
The homestay itself is situated in a street off the main road where all the bars and restaurants are, so it is close enough to be convenient but away from the dust and tourist activity. There are also a couple of reasonably priced warungs very close by.
The room was clean with a very comfortable bed and good amount of storage. Decent aircon and plenty of hot water too. There was a slight drain smell in the bathroom but nothing major.
The guesthouse is undergoing some renovations so there is building work ongoing to the first and second floor, but there was no construction noise at all whilst we were there and I think it will resume when high season ends.
You may wish to bring ear plugs as there is a mosque just down the road and the melodic sunrise call to prayer woke us up each morning (not unusual in many parts of Indonesia) and it also seemed to wake the resident cat who performed its own version of the dawn chorus straight afterwards.
A very caring and considerate team work hard to make your stay a good one.
