If you appreciate being at a quiet location in a simply stunning property. The way to our room was an adventure in itself, up and round two spiral staircases, past a beautiful pool table across a cloistered balcony. Obviously no lift so if you have heavy, bulky suitcases this could be a challenge. The room was simple but high quality eg the shower and bathroom facilities were superb, the bed a super king and very comfortable - what was not to like? The staff were very helpful and considerate. Two young ladies manned reception and then served us dinner (a simple one choice menu for a reasonable €43 each plus wine. I went road cycling during our stay and there are some great routes, rolling countryside although some quite busy roads around the town and its approaches. On our second night we went into Le Puy en Velay and ate in a superb restaurant L’Ecu D’Or kindly booked on our behalf by the staff.
On the whole we would rate Chateau St. Vidal a very special, unusual venue and would thoroughly recommend it.

Absolutely stunning property, beautiful room, outstanding facilities and superb service! The grounds are impeccably maintained, the staff are totally professional, we had a fantastic 2 night stay. Food was delicious, so tasty and beautifully presented. The jacuzzi and sauna were an unexpected bonus! Easy parking and a perfect base to explore the area.
I couldn’t fault the property - I didn’t want to leave!
