Villa ALMANA

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt I had to this time. Our stay was by far the best we had in Italy, and I also noticed some negative reviews from other travelers that I wanted to address. The villa is perfectly located, secluded on a hill, offering peace and tranquility with stunning views over Lake Como. As many others have mentioned, the easiest way to get there is by car. The roads are narrow, so you need to be comfortable navigating them when passing another vehicle. Don't let local traffic pressure you into driving beyond your comfort level, even if there are five cars behind you honking! There aren't many services immediately nearby. However, the owner recommended a few excellent restaurants, and there is a small shop and bar within walking distance, so we never felt like we were missing anything. We were looking for a place to truly relax with my fiancée, and this felt perfect. The rooms were exceptionally clean and beautifully renovated, with great attention to detail. The bed was very comfortable, the shower had excellent water pressure, and the rooms were well soundproofed. The AC kept us comfortably cool day and night. The pool area was beautifully maintained, and it was lovely to take a dip during the midday heat. There were even hammocks in the shade for a little afternoon siesta. Breakfast was an excellent selection of high-quality products, definitely not your average American-style buffet, which we really appreciated. There were savory options, sweet pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee & tea and more. You could also order an omelette for a small additional charge, which we were happy to pay. The service was exactly what we were looking for. Everything was handled promptly and efficiently, always with a warm and welcoming smile. This isn't an all-inclusive resort with a butler attending to you around the clock, and that's precisely what we liked.

A small fridge in the room would have been great, but the guests were allowed to use the fridge downstairs.
