Dreams Karibana Cartagena Golf & Spa Resort

The room was nice, good size, and clean. The offered entertainment for kids was good as well. Check-in process for VIP bundle was smooth.

Some parts of the building and facilities, e.g. the pool area, were a little bit aged and need to be refurbished. The food options were limited and the quality and selection of the buffet could have been better. We have stayed twice in the Dreams resort in Costa Rica (recently taken over by Marriott Hotels) which was far better (restaurants, food, service, and facilities).

Very comfortable rooms, big bed, amazing mattress and bathroom. Staff was very kind specially at the reception and for room service. Nice pool, lots of activities and a short walk from the beach. Would recommend specially for families with kids. 4-10. The seaside grill restaurant is by far the best, with portofino being second.

I stayed from Thursday to Monday. Service was amazing first two days, third day when more people arrived quality dropped exponentially specially on the pool bar and room service. I had to wait more than 40 minutes for a drink to be delivered and more than once, even when there were people serving, I had to go and ask again for food and beverages. The little kids pool was dirty, filled with sand. Even when recently opened it looked like it wasn't cleaned from the day before compared with the bigger pools. After 3 days it was very rough due to sand. Not nice. Food was average most days with only one day the buffet being amazing. Food was something I read was amazing and it wasn't so expectations, at least regarding the buffet, were not met.

Breakfast was decent- location as expected, near the pools...
