The property was modern, clean, excellent value for money and the location for us was perfect. We totally appreciated and enjoyed the extras, wine, cupcakes, hot cross buns, everything to make tea and coffee and a lovely touch was the fresh bunch of flowers, thank you
Nothing to dislike

An ideal place to stay when exploring North Yorkshire. The house was cosy and we loved the coal fire.
The creaking floor boards in the main bedroom and the first landing….shocking especially at night when other people are in bed.
No locks on the bathroom doors.
No sharp vegetable knives.
No kitchen scales.
Signs need to be put up in the bathrooms to discourage people from flushing unwanted things down the toilet and therefore blocking the pipes leading to the septic tank.

We all loved the large sociable and well equipped kitchen, we spent most of our time in there, prepping and cooking breakfast and dinner and playing “Pass the Pigs” in the evening. We also appreciated the comfortable beds and quality bedding. Brookside House was a joy to come back to after a day out.
The noise from the busy road did bother us at times but we understand that it is unresolvable and beyond the owner’s control. Despite this, Brookside House is an excellent base in which to explore the moors and coast. Power showers in the bathrooms would have been a bonus.
