The property was very clean, we loved the old building and it was very comfortable. The hosts were excellent and the food was great.

We liked everything about our stay and would return in a heartbeat. Considering the age of the property, it was clean, tidy and comfortable. Parking was directly outside the hotel, check-in was simple and our room (number 1) was just up a short flight of stairs. We had a 4-poster bed and a modern bathroom with his and her basins, a rainfall-type showerhead and a view over the garden and countryside. We couldn't get our TV to work, but within minutes of reporting this to Craig, it was fixed. We had drinks in the garden shortly after arrival and sat down for dinner at 7pm. The main course (Schnitzel and Cod loin) was delicious and the Italian Meringue was absolutely perfect, one of the best desserts I've ever tasted! That theme carried on into breakfast, where we had some fantastic fruit and yoghurt, a tasty latte, followed by beautiful smoked salmon with scrambled egg on toast. Check-out was equally as simple. We also enjoyed our trip into Hay-on-Wye, which is a few minutes drive away. There was a Saturday market, which we would highly recommend.

Breakfast very good. Bathroom excellent. Evening meal was delicious. Staff very engaging.
A lighter weight duvet would have been preferred.
A full length mirror would be appreciated.
