We were thrilled with how clean, cozy and beautifully decorated this home was, it was exactly what we needed after handling a family emergency just before arriving. The owners also left a cute gift bag including gift cards and a bandanna for our chihuahua! The neighborhood was quiet, we met some nice folks while walking, the location was convenient, and we'll definitely stay here again if we return!

We just spent a very comfortable week at Josie’s Getaway. This cottage was very clean and so beautifully appointed and decorated in a very appropriate beach and pony theme. The kitchen was well stocked with all the basic necessities plus more to make for a comfortable stay. The bedrooms were welcoming with comfortable beds and plenty of closet and drawer space. The bathrooms, too, were very clean and comfortable. The weather allowed us to enjoy the screened in back porch and the backyard furniture as well as a morning cup of coffee on the front porch. The neighborhood was quiet and felt very safe. This rental was a wonderful find and we would definitely return if/when we visit Chincoteague again!

Josie’s was very clean and beautifully appointed with a very appropriate beach and pony theme! It worked out well for 3 adults and 2 dogs. There were several neighborhood cats that kept the dogs entertained along with an occasional deer and squirrel! Next time I would reserve directly through Harbor Rentals and save a little $$!

Quiet neighborhood. Beautiful cottage- clean and had everything you needed. Enjoyed the screened in porch and swing for reading. Not the best weather. Highlight was the Fall Pony Roundup. A fenced in back yard for dogs would have been better because of numerous cats in area. Had to walk dogs to end of block to potty.

Perfect house for two couples. The house has a great floor plan with and was very well appointed, everything we needed to prepare our own meals. Plenty of towels for the house and the beach. Great location right downtown, we could ride our bikes to stores, restaurants or the National wildlife area. There was a very nice screened in porch in the back with a table and chairs so you can eat there if you like. We loved our stay here.

Very neat and clean and lovely decor! Centrally located to everything so that we could go back and forth. Found an additional road to walk the dogs today.
Quiet neighborhood and we were able to take advantage of many of the activities even though it is still early in the season.

The house was fine, clean and well cared for, but the location was pretty bad if you have a dog to walk. We had to drive to a trail twice a day because there was no place to walk her near or around this house.

This is our second stay at Josie’s. It is conveniently located and very well appointed. The home is well decorated and comfortable, things were very clean, and, as always, we were made to feel very welcome. The owners have thought of everything. It really does feel like you are staying with family and not just a rental. We love the upgraded full size washer & dryer, and the new chair. We also particularly enjoyed the beautiful fire pit and the porch swing. While there’s lots to do in Chincoteague, there’s also a lot of fun and family time to be had at Josie’s! There’s the open concept kitchen/dining room/family room, with lots of photos and info. on the ponies, plus books, puzzles, and games. The screen porch gives you an extra dining table and the swing! Outside is more seating and the fire pit. Josie’s even has skewers for marshmallows in case you forget yours! We LOVE staying here. It really is a home away from home. We can’t wait to come back next year!

5 star all the way! This is the best house we have stayed in! Loved the location. Very close to all the main areas. The house was absolutely beautiful! We loved the swing on the back porch. Very relaxing! Only issue was the ants in the kitchen, but not enough to take away ratings. We will be renting again for sure!

Our stay at Josie's Getaway was a forever-to-remember experience. When we saw the photos of the ponies in one of the bedrooms, we knew we were where we were supposed to be. The seahorses on the window shutters always welcomed us back when we returned from another Chincoteague adventure Josie is furnished with everything anyone will ever need. Comfortable beds, laundry facilities, plenty of light switches in convenient locations; a swing on the screened-in sunporch where you can curl up and listen to birdsongs and wind windchimes; dishes and cooking utensils, all shapes and sizes; a "pony family photo album." of the stallions, mares and foals that roam Assateague Island; and neighbors who make you feel at home. Harbour Rental personnel had answers to all of our questions and promptly responded when technical services were needed. When the day came for us to leave, we didn't want to "go away" from Josie's "getaway."

Due to the pandemic, we missed our yearly visit in 2020. Harbor Rentals helped us roll over our full rental to 2021. The only issue was that our original home that we stayed at was not available. We looked through all the available pet friendly rentals and chose Josie's Getaway. We were BEYOND excited when we pulled into the driveway but we couldn't have been more excited when we entered the home. This home owner is really involved in decorating and making the home beautiful! Harbor Rentals has never failed us and during our very first visit in which we booked on our own and were devastated by the condition of the property, they were eager to help us when we stopped by the office. Everything is always clean and comfortable and the staff at Harbor Rentals is always kind and caring. Josie's Getaway is a such a charming beach cottage. We've been vacationing on Chincoteague Island for many years and in many different beach cottages. When when we found Josie's Getaway last year, we loved it so much we decided to stay again this year. Josie's has it all! The cottage is bright and cheery and is so clean. It's like staying at a friends house in that the owners have provided everything you need and more for a comfortable and relaxing stay. They even leave a welcome bag with a handwritten note. New this year was an amazing bed swing on the screen porch. The house has a great central location on the island, near the beach, shopping, and dining. Our favorite activity was the twilight cruise where we saw dolphins, ponies, and an eagle up close. We loved eating at Woodies for a burger and playing outdoor games. We love Josie's Getaway and Chincoteague Island. We love Harbour Rentals-they are a friendly company and very accommodating. We've always rented from them! We hope to visit again next year!

Josie's Getaway is one of the nicest places we have rented. It's well furnished and really nicely decorated. We were there in the offseason, but the weather was mild and perfect for enjoying the screened porch. Our family loved the swing on the porch. The location was pretty quiet but still an easy bike ride to the beach. The owner left us an incredibly thoughtful care package featuring items from local businesses - which we then went to check out. We had a great week and would go back in a heart beat.

Josie's has it all! It's beautiful inside and outside. We love the swinging day bed outside and the amazing fire pit at night. This cottage is close to shopping and dining. We love that we can hop on our bikes and ride to the ocean! You can tell that this cottage is cared for by the owners and that the owners care for the guests that visit their cottage.We've been visiting Chincoteague for many years and have only used Harbour Rentals. We love that it is a small company that gives personalized service. Once we needed help with getting an appliance to work and someone from Harbour Rentals came right away to help!
