About this apartment rental
Come spend your OBX vacation immersed in the rich, local history. Updated, 1st level, in-law suite, minutes from sound side beaches, and a short drive to a front row seat of the Graveyard of the Atlantic. This quiet spot is located in a gated community, with basketball & tennis/pickelball courts, and a waterfront playground. There is also access to a community boat ramp for an additional fee. The space
Updated, studio style space with kitchenette and full bathroom. Walking distance to sound side beaches, and access to a variety of beaches, groceries, restaurants and entertainment within 10-15 minutes drive.
Guest access
As you arrive to the neighbourhood, you'll stay to the left to obtain a guest pass for your stay. Once you pull into the driveway, your entry way is located on the RIGHT side of the house. You'll have access to a full studio suite with it's own kitchenette and bathroom. Our hot tub is located on the lower front porch and is free to use at your leisure.

The stay was great. It is all one room with the bedroom separated by shelving. The owners were extremely kind and accommodating. Has everything you could need, including a nice large bathroom, great shower and shower pressure, kitchen accessories and grill. The hot tub was a huge bonus. We really enjoyed that. Short walk to the sound side. Far enough away but close enough to things. Highly recommend for couples. There is even a separate nice mattress to put on top of the fold out so it is more comfortable. Speaking of comfortable, the main bed was extremely comfortable. 10 out of 10, we recommend. The owners take very good care to make sure you enjoy your stay.

We spent three nights at the Pirates Lair. The host was very quick to respond to messages about check-in and the directions were clear. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole property was very clean. The location was great also - a short scenic drive to everything. The only problem we had was that it wasn't really a one bedroom. I never get a hotel room when I travel with my son be cause he snores! I like one of us to be behind closed doors and I thought I would get that here, The 'bedroom' is a bed hidden behind a dresser/bookshelf type stand with no door or real separation. If you know that going in, you'll enjoy your stay!

The accommodations were as advertised however it was further away from beach areas than expected. Also it was further from shopping areas than expected.
