手入れされた大自然の中で、本物の田舎時間を過ごすことができました。
敷地内にはオーガニック自家菜園や様々な果樹があり、それらを自由に採って夕食や朝食に使うことが出来ました。レストランはなく、セルフ朝食が付いてました。
採れたてのお野菜や果物の美味しさに感動！初めてのお野菜は管理人の料理長やホストの麻子さんが親切に教えてくれました。
ベッドから眺める田園風景や朝焼け、タイニーハウスの屋根に寝転がって眺めた満月や星空も最高の体験でした。
あまりにも素敵だったので、急遽延泊へ変更して、お勧めされた革細工の学校やかき氷屋さんへ行きました。
革細工の学校までは、山の中を通る細い道のドライブでしたが、四国で見たかった昔から変わらぬ山暮らしの人々の生活を見ることができました、革細工の学校で作った小銭入れ、何十年も使えるそうで、最高の自分へのプレゼントになりました。
夕食は鰹のわら焼きをホストに教えてもらいながら作りましたが、藁で外側だけ焼いた鰹の香りと魚の美味しさ、生臭さなど全くなく、人生でいちばん美味しい魚でした。畑のお野菜を一緒にトッピングして食べたら、豪華なディナーになりました。これは刺身が苦手な人にもお勧めです。
朝食は無農薬米とお味噌が冷蔵庫に入っていて、セルフで作りましたが、お鍋で炊いたご飯にお味噌汁、畑のお野菜で作ったサラダを風が抜ける屋根付きテラス、他では体験できない時間でした。
庭の摘たてミントや月桂樹のハーブティーの清々しさも忘れられません。
宮大工さんが作った木の浴槽のお風呂は広くて深くて2人で入れました。
日本酒のお猪口をお借りして、お風呂に入りながら飲んだ日本酒も最高の思い出になりました。
ニュージーランドへ戻った今も、毎日のようにヴィラかほくでの体験を思い出し、2人で語り合っています
楽しくてあっという間に時間が過ぎたこと。
もっと長く滞在したかった。

I loved the beautifully done decor and getting to see both the modern and the antique farmhouse. The custom wooden soaking hot tub was so wonderful to relax in. The host is extremely hospitable and spoke great English which made our stay easy and comfortable. Truly an unforgettable experience an the best meal we’ve eaten in years- magnificent cooking!

Naoko is the very definition of “the ultimate host”. She is kind, generous, and gracious. Her local knowledge is spot-on. She knows some fantastic spots in the area to swim, relax, eat, and tickle our artistic side.
Her property is absolutely amazing and encompasses complete usage of a refurbished main house, a separate modern accomodation suite, and several outdoor areas.
The star of the stay is Naoko’s food. She is an exceptional chef who will serve up more delicious dishes than you can possibly eat; you will not be disappointed 😊
